This product SUCKS! You can not scan to drop box, one drive or anything else but the one file you have to move mountains to destine your scans too. You can't choose where you want files to go from the machine you have to go into this long drawn out thing on the computer each and every time. I have never written a negative review before but I am so frustrated with the machine. I have spend 6 1/2 HOURS on the phone with tech just so I can scan to PDF. I own a small business and I need to scan. I am dusting off my old Lexmark t... read more
Thick black lines on scanned documents I have had two of these printers. After a weeks both printers started showing thick black lines on the scanned documents. This happens only for the automated scans, not the ones put face down on the glass plate. See attached images - lines are showing up on the top side of the scanned page, the back side looks fine. Any ideas on how to fix this? I have tried cleaning with alcohol.
Cannot scan to network folder If you are ok with walking to your computer and back to the scanner for each document that you want to scan then you might be fine with this printer/scanner. However, if you need to scan multiple documents at once, using the scanner is nothing but frustration. I have spent many hours trying to set up this thing to scan to a network folder or some other solution where I can control everything from the scanner itself, but it absolutely cannot be done. You would think for a printer that cannot scan... read more

throw away printers that work well works well but has a very small paper tray, we are constantly filling it. Toner and drums are stupid in price we keep buying more printers, it's much more reasonable in cost.
Crooked Scans This printer prints fine. However, as other reviewers have stated, scanning through the ADF results in crooked scans. Now I have to purchase a dedicated scanner. Unacceptable quality from Brother.
problem spooling jobs, wireless function not working properly I should say that I have had Brother Multifunction Copier /Printer/ fax/ scanner machines and loved them. I bought this MFCL2740CDW just a few days ago, and it does not work properly. The wireless function never worked properly, so I had to use a USB cable. Also, it would be extremely slow printing jobs. It would stop and spit out a page at intervals. It also makes an annoying barely audible but definitely there high pitch sound as if an alarm was always going off... read more
This printer will not stay connected wireless, have to ... This printer will not stay connected wireless, have to reboot and run set up wizard for each print. It will not scan more than one document at a time, it stops in the middle of the scan with error, says "an error ocurred" , what is the error??. It cannot scan from printer, says check connection. I will be returning this thing
Not worth extra $ for dropbox, cant use ADF, get the MFC-L2700DW You'll have to flatbed scan 1 page at a time with any cloud storage, at least for dropbox You can use the adf to send to email with multiple page scan/pdf, but I think the 2700 does that too I dont have a need to the other double sided stuff either, getting the other one for $70 less It was quite an ordeal receiving this thing, then getting it back to the shipper, burned a number of hours on it :(
