Normally it does that to my wife's Mac (a known Brother issue that is totally unexcusable) but it also does it to our PCs sometimes. I have been a loyal Brother printer customer for a very long time and this has been an incredible disappointment.
AirPrint feature has never worked and Brother seems to have thrown in the towel Purchased this printer about six months ago and one of my primary needs was to be able to print from my iPhone and iPad. That worked fine for a few months and then it just quit working with AirPrint. I called Brother support (which is included for the life of the product) numerous times and we did everything under the sun, but nothing worked. I am still by the first pack of paper and ... I am still by the first pack of paper and it comes up an error "replace toner" and I replaced the toner and the drum and the error still comes up.
Wireless Printing Does Not Work Wireless printing on this Brother printer does not work and requires constant resetting and rebooting. We've spent hours on the phone with Brother to no avail. Stay away from Brother printers if you want wireless printing. The company refuses to issue a refund.
Brother MFCL2740DW - Nothing but problems from day one. I have had nothing but problems with this printer. Customer Support told me to buy a new Print Drum (not covered under warranty). I did that along with new toner cartridges and still it doesn't work. I think it only printed a couple hundred of pages if that much before it started spilling ink all over my pages. Watch out for this one...
So far so good Only owned it for a few weeks, but have had good experiences with other Brother MFC printers. Not a tech wizard by any stretch and still set-up was straight forward.
Buy an older version We have this printer/scanner/fax at work. We have had it about two months, and it has been trouble since. You cannot send multiple faxes at once, as you can with any older model. About half the time we try to use the top feeder, the machine seizes up and makes a horrible buzzing sound, we have to remove the paper and hit the stop button until it stops making the sound (10-15 seconds every time). After the painful and extremely time-consuming process of getting it to even ... We had to return this days after opening it. After the painful and extremely time-consuming process of getting it to even communicate with the computer, we could never get it to scan properly. The scans resembled something seen in a fun-house mirror. After much effort to resolve this, we eventually gave up. This was our first Brother printer and we will not be buying another. We have never had difficulty like this with any previous printer.
Prints when it wants to print super annoying!!! Prints great when it prints. Won't stay connected to my computer and am constantly having to reset it up to get it to print.
