I am the administrator for my company's 401(k) plan and since we enrolled with Nationwide last year, I have nothing but issues. Our Account Manager is nice and tries to help, but he rarely knows the answers to questions and has to go hunt down information, to which I receive a response a couple days later. I just cancelled my nationwide pet insurance today, I was paying $49 - $56 a month for premium plan for my cat for the last 4 years, they increased my premium to $143 a month WITHOUT even informing, they kept charging my credit card on file. When I called them they said they could not refund me because it was set to "auto payments". My cat is healthy, rarely goes to the vet and past claims I've submitted have gotten rejected because it was "preventative". Ridiculous, I will be switching to a different company. NATIONWIDE IS NOT ON YOUR SIDE! I was talked into getting an annuity with nationwide. DON’T DO IT!!!! The rules were misleading and I found out the hard way. I was told that I had access to the profits as the annuity grew. That’s misleading. You only have access to a percentage of that interest earned each year. 7% each year. Not a calendar year either. I have nationwide pet insurance which was somewhat affordable at 55 a month for two pets but recently out of the blue got a letter saying my policy would renew and the cost would be double, to about a $100.00 per pet. The letter included No explanation, and no warning. When i called the only explanation was costs had increased in my area, which is a joke because i literally moved from california to virginia, a way leas expensive state than virginia. They don't deserve one star. I've been with them for years paying extremely higher premiums even having to sign a waiver in NC acknowledging that I'm paying too much. I had a deer strike my car and they told me and towed my car to what was said to be an approved location. The people didn't fix my car correctly and when I called them out on it thus began a hot potato or keep away scenario between the repair shop and the Nationwide agent. Nationwide notified me in Nov 2023 that they would not renew my homeowners ins in Jan 2024 due to the condition of my roof as shown in aerial photos. Called a trusted roofer and he said, yes there is definitely hail and wind damage. So I filed a claim in anticipation of a roof replacement per my policy. I was shocked when they closed my claim and sent me a check for $348. I’m a 24 year customer and I never expected this slap in the face! Worst service if you pay for a rental car for your policy they don't cover you on the weekends you'll have to wait till monday to keep arguing with them to get a rental

I had a total loss last year and subsequently Toyota Financial Services never received payment for the balance of my car loan. I tried emailing the total loss claims representative (**** *****) three times, I called both Joey Salas and his manager seven times and all fourteen times it rolled over to voicemail. I have been with Nationwide for well over ten years. It seems that in the last year or two, Nationwide employees have become rude when customers like myself ask questions or inquire about their policy.
