July 4, 2023 my neighbors were shooting fireworks which is against the law for my county and my storage building caught fire and totally destroyed the building and contents. I filed a claim and was notified in December my policy was being cancelled because I needed a new roof according to an aerial view done by Nationwide. I had a reputable roofing company come out and they sent Nationwide documentation my roof still had 10-12 years left. They refused to overturn their decision. I've had nothing but good experiences with Nationwide and have home, auto, and business insurance with them. Unfortunately, they recently cancelled my business insurance. When I inquired as to why, they said their representative reported that I had a leaky roof and needed a new roof. I asked for the report. You can't see my building from the road at all so I don't know how he found a leak when he couldn't even see the building which is behind a 6' wall. I was with Nationwide for over ten years and I never had an accident. My insurance agent didn’t notify me that if I didn’t make a payment they would cancel my contract. Supposedly it was a renewal period. They dropped me and issued me a refund from their wrong calculations on my payment and then sent it to a wrong account which they kept saying was mine. We secured property insurance for our 5 plex apartment with Nationwide February 2023. They recently requested evidence of upgrades to electrics, water pipes, roof etc. We sent all this information of a complete refurbishment carried out in 2004, complete with permits where the city would require units to be brought up to code. Have home in California insurance been through Nationwide since 2014. No claims made. Got notice of no renewal because claimed roof “bad”. How did they determine that, why of course, through a satellite picture taken from who knows where. Said if roofer certified condition that that would “ go a long way in reinstating us. ****** ******* Worst Nationwide employee I have ever dealt with. How she is still employed by Nationwide is beyond me. Does everything in her power to screw over the ones that pay her salary and has a voice that just grates at you. Although I do not agree on how Nationwide handled my claim, ****** is the main reason why I am leaving. She is truly a classless act.

Was in an accident where one of their customers was at fault. Submitted a claim almost four weeks ago. They decided my vehicle would be a total loss. Have been in email conversation with the person assigned to my claim. Has been a week and 3 days since I sent my last email. I sent an email to prompt a response after a week. Still nothing. My vehicle is not usable and I have not been offered any provision for that. If I was ever at a point to switch insurance companies, this will not be a choice for me. So I have an emergency for my dog and it cost 3,800. Nationwide paid only $555. these services were done in the Northern Virginia area by a respected *** ***group. Nationwide has limits on what they will pay for each service, for ultrasound the cost was $720 and Nationwide pays $200. and then they ignore all the other costs. I feel like a fool for paying $119 premium for so long and thinking it would help. Waste of money, self insure yourself next time.
