Absolutely terrible customer service. Over a week old claim submission with zero contact attempts to repair my vehicle that was driven by your insurer. Terrible experience. I drive 30 minutes everyday to commute to work. Good luck getting your car repaired if someone carrying this insurance, hits you.
They are not fair to the people that incur car damages caused by their clients. My car was hit by their client and they will only pay for aftermarket parts even though the part damaged are *** parts. I now have to pay out of my pocket the difference to have my vehicle repaired to its original state, *** parts! this was not my fault but I am being penalized for it. I contacted their customer service and they were no help! how is this fair to the person who incurred the damage. Nationwide is not on my side!!!
If I could give it a 0 I would and I NEVER leave bad reviews. But, after months of filing a claim, 3 different doctors notes, and all of the forms they asked for and then some they still denied our claim. You essentially need a life threatening emergency to happen prior to your trip is what I gathered from the responses we received. I canceled my policy. They sent me a refund. But apparently I owded them $85 and they never notified me and sent it to collections. And now I can't talk to them directly. Whenever I call they keep transferring me to my agent.
After switching to them for a few years and no house claims they send us a letter of non renewal with just over 1 month to get all new house coverage, umbrellas, and autos. The reason for this? Cost of materials has gone up and they now value the rebuild cost to be in-excess of double the estimated value of the house (which was already jacked up the maximum allowable from the covid buying spree in the area). Please don’t use Nationwide. If just one person reads this review and chooses another company it will be a win! I started my home policy on our new build and after they did an in person inspection the underwriters did not like the side entrance steps because they deemed it too “temporary” while we wait for our driveway to be poured. I have spent hours on the phone explaining and even providing a bill for our driveway. Horrible first experience with Nationwide.
Today should have been a great day and sadly didn’t end that way. My husband and I saved and saved and finally felt ready to buy a new car for our family. I wouldn’t recommend homeowners insurance to these people. My husband needs a brand new roof and has been with nationwide for a while now and instead of helping him with a new roof that he needs they want to send him a check for repairs. He pays nationwide for insurance for stuff like this. I don’t know how they’re still in business?! I don’t understand how they have an A+ rating through the Better Business Bureau?! I have them for my pet insurance and home insurance. My dog has been diagnosed with cancer and getting reimbursement for her treatments has been terrible! They requested medical records and I sent them all in the next day. It has been 3 weeks and I still have no reimbursement and no communication. My dog needs radiation weekly and I have been maxing out credit cards paying out of pocket because they have yet to reimburse.
