I canceled my policy. They sent me a refund. But apparently I owded them $85 and they never notified me and sent it to collections. And now I can't talk to them directly. Whenever I call they keep transferring me to my agent.
After switching to them for a few years and no house claims they send us a letter of non renewal with just over 1 month to get all new house coverage, umbrellas, and autos. The reason for this? Cost of materials has gone up and they now value the rebuild cost to be in-excess of double the estimated value of the house (which was already jacked up the maximum allowable from the covid buying spree in the area). Please don’t use Nationwide. If just one person reads this review and chooses another company it will be a win! I started my home policy on our new build and after they did an in person inspection the underwriters did not like the side entrance steps because they deemed it too “temporary” while we wait for our driveway to be poured. I have spent hours on the phone explaining and even providing a bill for our driveway. Horrible first experience with Nationwide.

Today should have been a great day and sadly didn’t end that way. My husband and I saved and saved and finally felt ready to buy a new car for our family. We went to the dealership, selected a safe family vehicle. Upon doing paperwork, we realized the website for Nationwide couldn’t find our type of car and didn’t recognize the vin. Car is new. I wouldn’t recommend homeowners insurance to these people. My husband needs a brand new roof and has been with nationwide for a while now and instead of helping him with a new roof that he needs they want to send him a check for repairs. He pays nationwide for insurance for stuff like this. I don’t know how they’re still in business?! I don’t understand how they have an A+ rating through the Better Business Bureau?! But, they are definitely not on your side. They would rather pay money overtime to patch and fix to do repairs... read more

I have them for my pet insurance and home insurance. My dog has been diagnosed with cancer and getting reimbursement for her treatments has been terrible! They requested medical records and I sent them all in the next day. It has been 3 weeks and I still have no reimbursement and no communication. My dog needs radiation weekly and I have been maxing out credit cards paying out of pocket because they have yet to reimburse. It is incredibly hard to cancel a home policy that you don't need. Nationwide makes it unnecessarily difficult to cancel through their representatives or online, and their agents hangs up on the call as soon as they hear your request. This is no way to do business and I will be canceling all my policies with them to go with ***** *****.

Terrible! Horrible, 2weeks still waiting. Their policy holder hit my parked car and the local office doesn't do any thing (****** **) they hang up on me. The adjuster they assigned says on her voice mail she doesn't monitor her mail box. *********** would have had this wrapped up fully in a weeks time.

Nationwide is not on your side. I applied for insurance and was not told a specific date that my insurance would be opened. I received emails alowing me to set up my online account, opt in for paper free notices, and an email that said if additional information would be needed that they would reach out within 3 business days. They didn't need additional information and I continued with my next appointment 4 weeks after applying. They rejected all of my claims to avoid any responsibility for payment and spit out their regular... read more
