Like others have said Nationwide are complete crooks. We filed a claim for damages on our roof and they sent out people of there choosing to assess the damages and sent us a 47 dollar check. I had already called a roofing contractor and they gave me there view of what they felt needed to be done and where all the damages were on the roof. Nationwide told me there was no damage caused by weather and that is how they concluded with deductible that I was owed the 40 dollars. I took my dog to the vet because he had some stomach issues and a cough. They denied my claim because they said he had a pre-existing condition. He is a 8 month old puppy and I took him in because of problems he was having right then. Now i am stuck with a $450 bill, they made me jump through hoops to dispute the claim and then they denied the claim. AVOID NATIONWIDE at all costs!

I have been trying to complete a total withdrawal as I have left my employer and moved to a new state. I have completed the forms supplied by nationwide and submitted them to my employer, who has submitted them to nationwide I have contacted customer service several times and heard several different excuses why I havent received MY MONEY its been 3 weeks and I was told 5-7 business days. This is unacceptable.. ****

Outrageous and absurd price increase. My Home insurance bill increased 50% from the previous one, which I consider an abuse of this company commercial position and a clearly mistreatment of its customer. All explanations given were vague not factual and completely ridiculous, trying the justify the unjustifiable.

I have just tried to file a second claim with them, which was rejected - again. The first was replacing my entire sewer line. Cost me $10K and "wasn't covered". Now I have a flooded basement and damage from *** and they tell me "it isn't covered". Worst insurance company ever - would not recommend!! What the h*** is the point of paying all this money for insurance if it doesn't even work.

I recently purchased a Homeowners and Auto Insurance Policy from Nationwide. I would give five stars to customer service and responsiveness to communications, although I have never had to file a claim. The breed of my dog came into question concerning the Homeowners Insurance. Although my current dog is not nor a mix on the Nationwide Breed Ban list, I find it disturbing it was even considered. My dog is getting old and eventually I will be in search of a new companion. I will not allow an insurance company to dictate to me ... read more

It was like pulling teeth to try and get some money for a hardship loan out of my retirement. I finally gave up they made it so hard. I was only asking for a very small amount and already provided the attachment to my wages that was causing the hardship. They wanted several more letters from this/that the other. I ended up just giving up. It would have been REALLY nice to have "Nationwide on my side".....LOL!!!! Recently signed up for a quote from Nationwide as I was shopping for car insurance. All the information I put into the quote was completely accurate and even confirmed on the finalized quote part but for some reason the quote went from around $606/6 months (roughly) to $909/6 months. Literally a $50 increase per month every month is an absurd difference between a quote and finalized quote especially when their was nothing different between my information and the information brought up. Our issue is consistent with those described. Following our claim in June, we spoke with the claims department and were told they required more information, which was provided. That was the last we heard from them despite multiple calls and messages. After again contacting our agent (it is now September) we received a call from ************************* (who we originally spoke to) who was impolite, explaining that she had completed her job and that we should somehow have known this without a call or email.
