Years ago I was offered an endorsement on my homeowners policy with Nationwide for "Equipment Breakdown". My agent informed this would cover loss from any major appliances that could potentially result in high costly repairs. Instead of me getting a home warranty company, and was advised to get this endorsement. I have been paying for this additional endorsement only to have my claim denied when my Air conditioner stopped working in July. I live in ** in a suburb of *******. Have been a Nationwide customer for almost 30 years. I have NEVER had an at-fault claim. I have not changed my address, have not changed my commute to work, nothing. Just called to find out why my premium increased by 30% and I was informed it was "because of your age". I'm not even 65 yet. Bad look Nationwide. This not-yet-a-senior is now shopping for another insurer. Buyers beware and keep shopping.

My ****** GAP insurance underwriters are from this company. I bought a car in March 2025, and it was totaled in June 2025 by a young driver who admitted 100% fault in a statement to insurance and police. The writers of my Gap insurance loan did everything they could to loophole paying the remaining $2000 on my car. I paid this company $900 to protect me and they paid $154 and pocketed everything I PAID, and they failed me while having profits of millions. They won't even lower my monthly payment which is now clearly for a lo... read more

Lied to me on my claim to deny it for my Pet Insurance, probably because I switched to a new company soon after making the claim. They claimed my documents were not legible that were uploaded to my claim. The documents were perfectly legible. Nationwide reimbursed $0 of a $322.93 total vet bill. I have been a loyal customer to Nationwide insurance for 28 years for home owners insurance. I have never filed an insurance claim and recently received a letter saying they needed to update their records and they needed to do an inspection. In the last two years our homeowners insurance has almost tripled in price. For absolutely no reason whatsoever on our part. We pay on time each year for the entire year and we have not made any claims. I understand inflation is the reason for consumer price increases but this is getting ridiculous. I will be switching to a different insurance company as soon as possible. We cannot afford these rates anymore. Signed Dissatisfied in *********
