Nationwide is a terrible company. Our ceiling in my mother's room fell in. Nationwide sent two separate appraisers out. After receiving the first report which was in our favor, they sent a second one out. Apparently the ceiling was installed incorrectly in 1977! It collapsed in October 2024! As a homeowner how was I supposed to know this? Our contractor found other rooms with the same problem. We fixed those out of pocket because we found out about it. I contacted Nationwide for Pet Insurance. I wanted to add a dog to my son's policy. You can't do it online. The representative gave me a price quote on the phone. I asked to email a detailed quote before I commit. He said it's their policy not to provide a detailed quote. I am not paying for something that I don't know how much I am paying for, what is/isn't covered, or any add-ons I might want to take advantage of. Contacted Nationwide and initiated a claim after someone ran into my right rear bumper on my 2006 ****** Tundra. Took my truck to their recommended repair shop, they gave me an estimate of $1,751.00, three days later I was told the amended estimate is $6,023.00 and they are going to total my truck. I ended up keeping my truck with a salvaged title. I then took it to another body shop and got an estimate of $3,200.00 to fix it. Be wary of random property inspections and the risk of policy cancellation. I have a 70-year-old property insured with them, and out of the blue, they decided to do an inspection. What would you expect with a house that old? Of course, they found a list of minor issues like chipped paint and worn window frames. It almost felt like they were looking for a reason to cancel my insurance. Ive been with them for over 10 years, never filed a claim, and they had never done an inspection before. I have had a horrible experience with Nationwide trying to close my 401k account. The first time I called them, they said my account was handled by a second party insurance company and to contact them. They gave me the wrong phone number to call so I could not reach this second party. I had to get the correct info from my previous employers HR.After getting the correct information and contacting this second party, I was told my banking information had been submitted to Nationwide and it would take 7 business days to get my m... read more

I contacted Nationwide about a customer of theirs that scraped my car. ****** ******* says she is denying the claim because 1. Her customer says he didn't do it ?? and he had no damage, which sometimes they don't. BUT NOW SENDS ME A LETTER STATING I WAS 50%+ AT FAULT.......RESEARCHING THIS, NATIONWIDE CAN BE SUED FOR THIS ????

I was rear ended and not at fault. The driver/their insurance Nationwide claimed full responsibility for my repairs. Positives: When I needed a rental Nationwide was very quick to set that up. The two adjusters I worked with were responsive to emails and calls. The two adjusters were for the majority of it professional, knew their companys policies, and knew the information relevant to my case to answer my questions. Part 2 of my review. Finishing my previous thought, I was raised that if you do something to someones property or borrow it, you restore/return it in the same condition or better. The total price for original parts came out to be under $200, and there is no doubt that Nationwide could have paid it. They arent a bankrupt business. They have lots of money. Last, multiple times they attempted to take away/not pay for my rental car even though my car was not driveable and was actively being worked on in shop. I cant believe this... read more
