My husband and I had our alternator belt break the night before going here. We were far from home, and came in at 8:00am after staying the night in Santa Rosa. The staff was so helpful, we didn't get over-charged and the change was quick. Three months later and everything is still running well. Thanks Randy!
Fast, friendly, efficient. Well worth going to. I had my oil changed and filter and I was out of there. I will be back.
The two gentlemen who worked on my car were great. Very polite and worked diligently. They definitely up sold me on things but gave me stats and visual proof that my car needed these things done. I felt very taken care of.
My first experience here was great, the 3 since have been painfully long. 2nd time I waited for 30 minutes and was never acknowledged a car pulled up long after me and was greeted and pulled into the stall before anyone even said hi to me; after waiting over a half hour I left without service. 3rd time I waiting over 40 minutes and by the time they pulled me in their was down and they couldn't service anyone. I LOVE these guys! Randy is the mechanic, very nice man. Entire staff very polite, kind, and great vibe. I have had belts changed there for 25% what I was quoted elsewhere, smog checks, and tuneups. I had some expensive work done on my car in my hometown, only to have the car overheat (original problem) within 100 miles. I called hometown mechanic asking what to do. These guys were great! I was a little caught off guard as I've never remained in the car during any service but they were extremely polite and involved me in every step of the way. They verified my oil level by showing me the dip stick before and after the change and they pulled out the old oil filter to show me as well. I downloaded a $5 coupon off their website as I waited so I'd say $45 for an oil change, free car wash, free beverage, and washing my front/back windows was totally worth it! We've been using Oil Stop at Coddingtown for nearly every oil change for more than 20 years. I've always appreciated the attention to detail and the near military precision of the experience. Recently there was an issue that I felt was caused at the shop. My loyalty and patronage were certainly appreciated as they offered no objection to performing the repair. I would not recommend this place. I called ahead to check the price and was told $45.99. I drove quite a ways to get there and when my oil change was done they told me it was $66.30. I asked what the extra fees were and they said all mandatory things, $7.99 for a new oil filter, $3 waste disposal fee, $6.75 for the oil. I will not go back as all the hidden fees, which are standard in an oil change, made the total $25 over the quote. I have been to several different Chevron Oilstops over the past year. In each case, I have had a pleasant experience with no trouble or issues. I was even given an Oilstop punch card (get 5 oil changes and the 6th one is free). That was perfect for me because I drive long distances in California to visit family and need an oil change often.
