Had Old Republic for a year, and I feel confident to call them and apathetic borderline scam. It took them 89 days from the date of first to replace my washer dryer unit, most of which was me spending 1 hour + on hold waiting to speak to someone in the appliances to department. It took them 5 months (they actually closed the service request after 90 days of inactivity, even though they were the ones waiting on a quote from the provider to approve), and 3 service providers, to get someone to quote our AC ducting replacement. ... read more

An hour on hold every time I called. No contractors in area will work with them so they tell you to get a contractor. That puts you in the middle of the two. They wouldnt pay for any ac nor hot water repairs. Terrible waste of time. *********** **********.

If I could give negative stars I would. I have been given the run around for a month with no AC in bedrooms. Between 2 contractors who never showed up, multiple visits by electrical company and another AC contractor who cant figure out what is wrong. My compressor is 12 years old and probably needs to be replaced but it will take forever because OLD REPUBLIC contracts with the worst rated contractors they can find. Old Republic was quick to send someone out to inspect and replace my HVAC. First the compressor went and several months later the condenser went. At renewal time I received an email saying they are not renewing my policy. Wow! I called and I was told I had a high claim in the first year. Buyer beware! I would call another home warranty before Old Republic.

ORHP is a total joke to work with so far. I submitted a request for service for a broken AC 5 weeks ago. The first contractor they sent out said to replace the *** The second one said to replace a coil. I was told it was authorized by a ORHP representative and the part would be in 5-7 business days. We are now approaching day 50 of no air conditioning with little to no urgency on Old Republics side. We have been told multiple times communication would occur within a day only to have to call back days later for communication. Every phone call ends up being at least an hour plus on hold. Buyers be aware of this company and do your research before choosing them for a home warranty.

My a/c unit was not operating properly, the temperature from noon until 8 pm was as high as 80 even when the thermostat was at 72. I requested service, they sent a technician. I had to call him after 5 days to schedule an appointment. When he finally came out he spent two minutes looking at the outside unit, put his head in the attic then goes to the return air plenum and says it is too small. If you want to just give your money away, go ahead and buy a plan with Old Republic Home Protection. So far, they have covered NOTHING, IF you can even get service. I have had to pay out of pocket to get work done - in addition to their service fee - to fix everything. For my electric oven, the service technician never showed up. I submitted a claim 7/17/23 because our unit was not blowing hot air. A Tech from their in network providers came to look at it that same evening we filed.
