Old Republic Home Protection (ORHP) seems like a scam. Their local providers have consistently demonstrated no interest in solving the problem; they just want to collect their fee. I have placed three service calls recently and in all three cases was told by the service provider that they couldn't provide the service. I am being generous with two stars. Last winter I needed a new heat pump and ************ took five months for them to finally pay me, and they paid only half. Old Republic Home Protection is the worst warranty company that exists!!! Do not choose them for your Home Warranty plan!!! They are unreachable!! When you call they are COMPLETELY AUTOMATED!!! No human to speak with! The company they have come out ****************** in **** ** is extremely unprofessional and just shows up without notice and treats customers like trash because they have no repercussions. I definitely will not renew with this company. They could not find a Contractor within my state to replace my Garage Opener. Two contractors assigned, one 3 hours away and the other 7 hours away. And they had the audacity to charge me for a Service Call even though no one showed up.

I am not sure the service that is being paid for if you cant get an emergency repair done within the same day it happens. Honestly, there is no reason to have this service. The convoluted customer service experience, the long holds, and the companies selected not having availability.

Avoid Old Republic at all costs. They will come up with any excuse to not pay a dime. Our A/C started running all day long couldnt cool the house more than 2 degrees below the outside temperature. We live in *******; its 90 degrees outside and 88 degrees in the house and we have two little kids. I thought, thank goodness we have a home warranty. Your customer service has gone downhill with rude phone reps who don't care anymore. We've been customers for 10+ years and what a big difference I have experienced. Your employees sound like they are miserable. Very disappointed. In order to get service and a resolution for my AC unit, it took almost a month. I recently had a repair done to my Frigidaire range. It was a company contracted with Old Republic that performed the repair. The main display board had to be replaced. When removing the old board, some of the paint was ripped off. It was explained to me that the new board did not come with a backing & trying to use the original backing for the new board would not work, so I was left with a display with areas of paint missing.
