I called Orkin regarding some menacing wood bugs in my home and furniture. The phone rep described that they could provide solutions to the pest concerns, and I scheduled an appointment. Had the rep visit the house but he didn't seem to offer much confidence in his knowledge of the pests. He did want to offer the yearly plan for spot treatment but I needed to know if that doesn't take care of it what are the next steps/options. Broudy S. We have a rat problem in a detached garage. Called Orkin, they put out traps and the rats ate the bait and the traps did not engage. They came up with all kinds of reasons why they were not catching rats and not looking at the fact that their traps don't work. Orkin's response: these are the only traps we have, so I canceled my contract. Their employees are not that bright, no solutions, just excuses.

been using orkin for over a year now. i tried to reach them 6/24/19 and 6/25/19 and was put on hold several times over 50 mins each time (by the way all the phone numbers you find on the net go directly to the same in-house answering marketers. if you need new service they answer, if you have a question, which i did, your put on hold FOREVER.... This company is ridiculous. I got hung up on by man who answered because I would not give him my last name when I called trying to get information. I called back which was 510 340 3958, and a woman answered and I asked where they are at and she said I called a call center in Atlanta. So who ever that jack a** who was working this morning is needs to get another job and learn how to not lose a customer. Because of him, I will never do business with ORKIN. Bye.

This is by far the worst company I've ever dealt with. They are nearly impossible to contact. The primary problem I initially engaged them for was rat control. They were nearly useless, merely setting a few traps, coming by once in a while to remove dead rats and resetting the traps. No effort to seal points of access. No effort to repel them. Nada. This company is sloppy and unscrupulous. Stay away. We called Orkin because we suspected bed bugs in our house. The inspector arrived on time, and spent a lot of time in one bedroom, and only about one minute inspecting the second bedroom. He claimed that the second bedroom had bed bugs, and showed us a picture on his phone of the supposed 'bug.' He described the heat treatment to us as heating our house up to 230 degrees Fahrenheit. I had an appointment on Saturday from 12-2. Guy didn't show up within the window. I called and he said he'd be another hour. I told him I won't wait that long. I called back 20 minutes later and his phone went to voicemail, except he didn't have a voicemail set up. I attempted to call the 800 number and it ran once and went dead. I found the number for the Hayward office and it didn't even ring. I won't use them. I've already contacted another company and am awaiting their response.
I had Orkin Pest Control to take care one of my rental apartments in Oakland. There was a complaint about fleas that were bothering tenants dog. I schedule Orking pest control immediately for one time treatment -$200. They kept coming for over six month for regular check up $100 per visit. I kept it going just to make sure nothing like that will happen again.
