Get directionsI was put in this place when I was 17 years old after my school told my parents that I was Severally depressed and had cuts on my arms. And let me tell you It was the worst place I have ever been too. Some of the staff that were with me were complete dicks, they treated me like I was lesser than them. I was crying my eyes out for my mom one night when one of the staff told me to shut up or I wouldn't be able to see her. She absolutely gave no sympathy for me when I was in a venerable state.
This place is a joke. The staff does not care about the patients. They care more about what they're getting for lunch, or who will make a Starbucks run. Had a relative that was recently hospitalized here, and to say their needs were neglected is a complete understatement. Just because a person is placed on a 5150 hold DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE NOT A HUMAN! The staff here treats patients like they're some type of filthy rat and avoids them at all costs. And instead of being caring and empathetic, they lead with anger, and intimi... read more
It's pretty obvious that the phones are tapped at this facility every time I'm trying to speak to a loved one here there's a echo, so there shouldn't be a damn echo because when I'm on the phone with somebody else, my phone is completely fine and the phone fault the phone calls just Dropped out of nowhere coincidentally which I find humorous, considering the fact that I know about phone calls and hacking and phones being tapped. I'm not stupid and I'm pretty sure it's fucking illegal to listen to a phone call that's not cons... read more
I was admitted to this hospital back in June. i've been admitted on a 5150 before but not like this. it was my first time as an adult and not as a adolescent. There were a few amazing staff members and i won't ever forget them as they helped me through my hard time of being there. ones name was Bridgette, and a male and female nurse both names were randy. they knew how to do their jobs the correct way. i could tell they had a passion for what they did. and i felt safer around them. the other staff was mean. they did not care... read more
Avoid this place if you love your loved ones. They sent my mom to a homeless shelter that didn't even accept her upon arrival. My mother battles drug addiction and bipolar schizophrenia. I have been thru so many facilities and this by far was the worst. Staff could really care less about your situation and sounds like they hate their job. Seems like they treat patients like animals
Absolutely the worst place. Wouldn't send my worst enemy there. Showers are disgusting. I beg you to go elsewhere. Constant loud disruptions from patients which makes it difficult to sleep or rest.
I am a person who has been in and out of hospitals due to very severe mental illness. Due to the extreme mistreatment and neglect I got from this "hospital", I acquired PTSD and will never go inpatient again. Upon arriving from another hospital, I had medical issues and was taking the drug Artane, which later caused me severe cognitive impairment and psychosis, which was overlooked and not cared about at Pacific Grove. I kept asking to see a medical doctor as I had just had a spinal fusion and had EXTREME stomach pain. I o... read more
Our experience with Pacific Grove Hospital has been terrible. My daughter was admitted to this hospital twice. She obviously suffers from mental illness and may not have been the most cooperative but was "manhandled "and put out on the street with a city bus pass. The weather was terrible and she ended up in our community hospital with hypothermia. From there she was readmitted to Pacific Grove. It was very cold. They kept the temperature so very low. She was not allowed another blanket and was not allowed a blanket from hom... read more
The place is a pit. Chaotic, unorganized, understaffed, unhygienic. The temperature was kept at 64F & everyone including staff was always cold, even when bundled up. I did not witness direct abuse but saw neglect repeatedly. To be fair, some of the staff were really trying to do their jobs but others were clueless. One aide, who was supposed to be watching an elderly patient, left her in the middle of the night to chit chat at the nurses station. The patient fell getting out of bed & split her head to the point she needed su... read more
