I’ve purchased a couple houses during my lifetime and have refinanced several times. By far and away Penny Mac is the easiest and less stressful company that I have ever dealt with. I would highly recommend anyone to at least consider Penny Mac when either purchasing and/or refinancing.
Honestly, I understand I have had PennyMac since I bought my house and this was my 2nd refinance of my mortgage, but everything was smooth and super easy. Great communication and very quick service. I appreciate all who worked to get this done for me.
Easy process
I expected to be contacted when the loan was closed to cancel my auto pay in time. However, the loan was funded the same Day my auto pay was due so I made the payment to ensure I was not penalized for late fees. It takes up to 3 days to get my money back electronically. Also, I had to sign closing docs twice due to an error on the loan number. Just disappointed I was not personally contacted to let me know the loan funded so I could have cancelled my payment and waste my time to get my money.

A prompt and smooth process with clear and concise communication.
It was a very unpleasant experience, took more than 4 months to close with no communication from PennyMac, spent several hours calling myself with no answer, closing documents were wrong (had to reschedule 3 times in the middle of pandemic). The estimation end up being significantly different, something I would have never accepted since the begining (ended up accepting because spent too much time on this that I would not want to start again and lose my interest rate).
Great is all I can say about the Professioal way my experience was handled by PennyMac
