From the beginning I made it clear I did not want to escrow. Eventually George worked it out but the original settlement date was missed because of escrowing in the settlement. No one called the mobile notary to tell him settlement was not going to take place. We settled one week later but the settlement documents brought to settlement were the ones from the week before. I was already a happy PennyMac customer so I gave them first crack at a refinance for my VA loan. I didn't have to submit any documentation whatsoever. The process was quick and efficient and I signed in less than 30 days from my initial phone call. Everyone I dealt with was professional and friendly and answered my questions in a timely fashion. I would recommend PennyMac to anyone looking for a home loan.
Documents were requested multiple times. Emails were sent to us, timely responses were given, and little follow-up occurred. Little things became aggravating. PennyMac makes money off these refinances and people like us - long time customers with great credit and lots of equity - should sail right through this process. Yet it seems PennyMac puts us through the same rigorous process it puts new customers through ... it seems unnecessary and wrong.
My experience was great from the first phone call to the final closing. I was kept informed during all steps.
