The Notary messed up my papers and I was really pissed off and wasted my time and I had to wait last minute to correct it or be corrected I didn’t feel confident. But overall I’m glad it’s done
My closing date had to be postponed because of closing documents not being prepared in a timely manner. Time is money. It also would have been more beneficial to follow up with the customer in a timely manner, by returning phone calls as promised. Other than that, I appreciate how the latter part was handled in a more expeditious manner.
Even during the COVID-19 challenges, the process went very smoothly.

The refinance went pretty smoothly at first. My contact was very helpful answering all my initial questions. I know refinances are very busy right now. It would have been nice to receive updates instead of having to call after 2-3 weeks without any updates. The final closing documents were sent with minimal time to review before closing and there were several financial changes to them that were never explained before or after receiving the documents. I had to figure out what changed by myself.
Streamlined
After been informed of no " out of pocket money " when it came time to finalize the loan I was told that I did had to pay out of pocket. Of course it was resolved ,but not after having to keep comunicating with the persons in charge of the process. I think this made the closing to last longer than needed. I did not expected that
Overall great experience. Some hiccups with closing and repeat documents requested, But the Hangul I think was more with my employer versus pennymac. Once resolved everything went according to plan. Rachel and all the loan specialists were awesome. Wait time was always super reasonable, especially during Covid where we thought we would have to wait. Questions and replies back were always quick and thorough.
The online Closing Disclosure document was never updated to remove the Escrow Account. I was told that it would be corrected in the final version and it was, but I would have appreciated an accurate version before the closing, especially since the notary had no time to allow a review of the closing paperwork. Also, I was sent a bill from the old, original PennyMac for $1904.81. When I called customer service, I was told to ignore it, but that they could not verify that instruction in writing.
