Excellent service, as a veteran I was treated better than when I tried to do my refinance through USAA (a veterans only organization)! I would recommend PennyMac to anyone!

The service was ridiculous. I will never use PennyMac again. I will tell all my friends don't use PennyMac. They continually ask for my mortgage statement for an address that was a bank. I explained to them I didn't own property at that address and that address was a bank. That I had a mortgage from that bank on my town home which I had already provided the statement to. The time frame was completely unreasonable at took a month and a half to refinance. they already had all my information becaus

There was an additional 4k dollars on the loan that wasn't part of what I agreed too. The loan was suppose to be 289k with closing costs included. All documents and communication before notary was sent out included closing costs. I will not be back for future business. The process took longer (due to covid im assuming) but was also inaccurate. If the loan couldn't have been matched then why put me through the process?

The closing process was painful as I kept getting emails to verify my earnings and bank statements over and over to the point that I emailed Ben asking how much more do I need to provide. Also I had to close a Heloc account so I can close earlier or else I would have had to wait 3 more weeks and that popped at the last minute. Now I received a letter saying that you folks do not pay insurance and taxes and that is my responsibility. I have had an escrow account there.

The overall process and timeline were clearly communicated and this is what contributed to our overall "great" experience. However, there were often times break downs in communication, specifically during the closing process, that led us to a lower rating for some questions. Our closing date was rescheduled three times. During one of the rescheduled dates, the notary never showed up or called, nor did PennyMac call to inform us that the notary would not show up. This was a huge inconvenience.

Everyone was great. Everyone kept me informed every step of they way and they were all professional and courtesy. It was a great experience.

There needed to be more communication about my loan progress. I started the process in May of 2020 and it just closed end of September. There were weeks that went by where I didn't hear from anyone and I had to reach out about the progress.

The timeframe took MUCH longer than expected and there were no updates on the timeline unless I reached out first. This is not a direct reflection of Jacob; he was great!
