I liked that in the beginning I was contacted weekly, giving me updates on the loan status, but those calls stopped. It took 3 months to close, and for 1.5 of those, I had no idea if my loan was still being processed. We set a closing date, and no one showed up, I had to call to find out what was going on, we set another appointment a week later, which made it so I had to make another mortgage payment to my previous lender.
It was nearly impossible to get someone on the phone, when you did get someone on the phone, they were not informative and incorrect/contradictory info on documents needed or not needed then 2 weeks go back and why you were told was not needed and then closing document changed 4 times within 8 days. When notary was at my house - after calling and not getting anyone but being sent to voicemail box I finally got someone (15 calls later) then hold 45min before someone could answer my questions.

I don’t even know how to start. This was the worse experience ever. The first time I applied for my loan PennyMac was not able to accomplish the documentation on time and blame covd-19 and third parties such as banks and escrow. I had to reapply and it was even worse no Communication whatsoever. No one could give you a credible explanation or even take ownership of the problem and try to solve it. The whole team fail to communicate, assist and execute on time.

I experienced several "miscommunications". The loan officer didn't understand VA funding fees/pending disability claims and provided incorrect information. At closing, David said to sign the docs stating it was an investment property when it wasn't. Another notary had to come and have me re-sign everything. Craig promised a $250 credit for the inconvenience, and it was never applied. I've been waiting over 7 days for him to return my call to discuss... BAD COMMS/WRONG INFO WITH ALL EMPLOYEES!
Charles and Elizabeth were great. The closing professional was terrific. Been with Penny Mac for many years and they are superb.
