Communicated every step of the process and kept me informed.
Refinancing with PennyMac was a great experience. We had our closing within a month. It was the fastest closing we’ve ever experienced. I would welcome anyone to use PennyMac for your mortgage needs. Thank you PennyMac for all you did to help us close in a timely manner!
Great service.

No one ever told me how long the process would take. I understand that these are unprecedented times, but I would think that you would have some idea of how long the process would take. Also, I got requests for documents that didn't make sense and I had to inquire as to what they were. I realized that a lot of the process may be automated and therefore there may be some bugs in the system requesting documents that need to be cleaned up.
Here are a few of the many instances that made my refinance process unpleasant: A document was requested for my VA approval. I sent the document about 5 times, it was confirmed to have been received, and then I was asked again multiple times to submit the document. My wife was denied credit for a reason that was never explained to me. After receiving that news, any and all communication from Jason Staples stopped. I reached out multiple times to find out what happened without explanation.
Initial approval had me saving $115/month and getting $200+ at closing. These figures were supposed to be "locked in". When given the closing disclosure, the amounts had changed to saving $55/month and getting $330 at closing. Explanation was my property taxes had doubled. Final documents had me saving $50/month and owing $54 at closing. Very disappointing to not get the "locked in" figures initially promised. BAIT AND SWITCH?!?
to slow.
Give me a phone number for 1 loan officer that is in charge of my case so that I can have a consistent line of communication with one person so that A) I know I can get a hold of someone when I need help instead of spending 5 minutes navigating menus and holding on the phone when I need to talk to someone and B) so I can get consistent clear direction pertaining to the particulars of my case. I was told we would not have to pay closing costs yet we were expected to pay $1063 at time of closing
