During application period, agent was professional & requested documents needed. However when rates lowered , he was not helpful ( even licked rate expired). To close on time was forced to pay more to keep old locked in rate. Carolyn Monson (closing approval agent) was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL throughout her phase. Yuri (app. agent) didn’t really communicate to questions, etc as desired. Carolyn responded very timely. That’s why the excellent overall review. The delay in closing was on Buyer’s end.
The lady kept telling me that me and my wife needed to sign the eDisclosures for the loan even though she was not on the loan. The penny mac lady put the responsibility on me to call back and forth to support to figure it out myself saying “none of her other clients had this issue”. After multiple calls to support and other numbers it was determined she just didn’t know about the new system. Getting in contact with anyone was slow and difficult. Call backs would take days, or not at all

It was difficult to get the actual closing scheduled. I would get an email/call from pennymac telling me a time, but would then get an email/call from the lawyer office telling me something different. We did get it scheduled so it turned out okay.
The entire process went smooth with no hickups along the way. Communication channels were always available and questions promptly answered. The ability handle all application documents and signature online simplified the process.
Everybody was very pleasant to work with throughout the whole process.
We were supposed to close at the end of October originally but our documents must have fallen through the cracks and they had to restart the process all over again. I was originally told I would receive what was in the escrow account since we were putting a new escrow account into our loan and I haven't seen that yet so I'm not sure if that's actually happened or not. I sent a message about it and did not get a response. Otherwise, everybody was very nice.
I constantly received requests for the same docs. I'd upload them to the website but often, my contact didn't get it. My contact was replaced 3-4 times. If I sent it by email, the next contact didn't have access to it. Communication was horrible. I received 3 requests for insurance certificate, which I immediately uploaded each time. Finally I called and my contact tells me I keep getting the request b/c the policy on the certificate had expired. No one bothered to reach out to explain.
