We disclosed early in refinance process that we had unfinished home projects that would be completed after the refinance was funded. At the near end of the process, Pennymacs demands changed and they would not fund until after the projects were complete. If this was communicated, we would have made different decisions about the timing and company we chose.

PennyMac was unable to produce a appraiser. My realtor had to find one. We nearly lost the sale because of this egregious delay. When calling PennyMac you always spoke with someone different and would get different responses. Although I was "assigned" to Josie, I could not call her directly. I had to go through their phone system and typically she would call me back after explaining the whole situation to someone different. It was a part time job (for me!) to get this loan processed. Response time was very long and the communication was poor. Also had several documents in the portal that weren't processed delaying everything .
