Our loan orginated with PennyMac. We did not have to provide a lot of paperwork. We were able to communicate by email and phone when we had questions. It was so convenient to be able to sign our final loan documents in our home!
The loan originator was excellent but the process went downhill from there. The original loan processor was terrible, did not communicate and the underwriting process was awful. I had a streamline refinance, since already a customer, and it took almost 4 months to settle. They finally assigned me to a new processor who worked to get the loan finalized. I am very disappointed with the service I received. They tried to put blame on COVID!
First of all Erica was great. My disappointment stems from speaking with a representative earlier in the process & being advised it would only take a month to close when in reality it took us 2 months. Also, the underwriter had us send paystubs 3 times.
The process took almost 4 months to complete. We were told things in the beginning of the process and then told something completely different on a few different occasions. We turned in our paperwork that was requested within 1 day of it being requested each and every time. However we were continually asked to resubmit paperwork. We paid for our appraisal and scheduled it within days of getting the go ahead and fixed the issue brought up on appraisal the same day. Then 3 weeks later we were ask
We refinanced our existing PennyMac loan, and overall, the process was very good. One the application was complete, we got a weekly email updating us with the status. There was a small issue related to escrow at the last minute, but this was resolved over the phone very easily. The only negative was that the process took longer than expected, due to the demand for loans.
Our loan specialist did great and answered my questions very quickly and clearly.
