It took forever to close this loan. there were internal problems on the Penny Mac side of the transaction. I do not know exactly what they were, but was told that by my loan processor Tracy Parker. I know for a fact that my property taxes were not paid on time, and it cost me over 6k in lost tax deductions. My taxes and insurance are included in my payment, yet they weren't paid! the costs of this loan seem to be very high. I got a rate of 3.49% with cash out. It cost me$16,516 for the loan
From the time I made the first phone call to PennyMac to inquire about re-financing until the last communication that my loan was approved, the process was uncomplicated and seamless. I appreciate the work of Roberto Arias and Erica Sanchez to make this loan process go smoothly with no stress. As we communicated through this process, I always understood what was expected of me and they always explained everything to me in a matter that was easy to understand. Thank you PennyMac !
Gregory was very thorough and very personable. He made the experience smooth. I enjoyed talking with him. He was very clear and answered any questions I had very promptly. All around a seamless process.
Admittedly, a lot of it was not the fault of Penny Mac per se but rather the extenuating circumstances surrounding the process with the whole Covid "pandemic". As a result the exchange of emails and calls were really sparse and the process was a little extended and tedious. There were issues on my end obtaining some documents because of the same circumstances. But for the most part the customer service was pretty straight forward and polite. Closing fees were not what was quoted at time of payme
