I sent several emails that went unanswered for days, and these were not emails I sent on a weekend. I also tried to call directly to my loan team and despite repeated efforts, and even though I called during normal business hours , I got an answering machine every time. Unfortunately, while I could always get through to the general help line, it seemed I could never get someone who had specific knowledge about my loan. I will say, however, that my loan went through in less than 30 days.
From the moment I called PennyMac regarding the possibility of refinancing, to completely going through the process, I felt the customer service and professionalism of the staff who worked with me were awesome. Everything was clearly explained and transparent; updates were timely, and I felt very confident and comfortable with the entirety of the experience.
There were some communication issues due to present circumstances, overall it went well.
Loan finally got processed
Good experience
The loan process from Denny was great. The problem I have was I decided not to do a not cash out refinance and miss two payments. That would give me what I needed to do some renovations I wanted to do. I was told up front it wouldn't be a problem to miss two payments. So that's the direction I decided to go. However, that wasn't the case and I feel I was mislead and didn't get to accomplish what I needed to do.
After being told we wouldnt have to make any payments until Sep 1, we were asked twice on different occasions to make a substantial payment towards the loan. One of those payments were rolled into the loan over 30yrs, the other was disregarded after complaining.
PennyMac is a very pleasant company to work with. This was our second time around. Wouldn’t want to work with another company. Thank you PennyMac
Long story. Nut shell is that I was told that I would not have ANY closing costs but the first time I got paperwork, I was told I had just shy of $100 to close. Took a month to get that straightened out. Then on the day to sign closing paperwork, I was again told I had $20 some and had to get that fixed also. Just not too happy with all the run around I had to go through.
