Get directionsWorst call experience I've ever had with a vet clinic. I was distraught about a possibly sick puppy and a tech named Laura refused to help or give me any information other than wait in the parking lot for 6 hours. I asked if it's in order of severity and she couldn't make up her mind. It's impossible to sit in a parking lot for 6 hours when a 2 week old puppy needs to eat every 2-3 hours. I asked to speak to a manager and she couldn't even help me with that. Bottom line she was not even close to sympathetic and couldn't give... read more

Hi Marie, we are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your pet's visit. We aim to provide the highest quality of care to your furry friend and are saddened that you felt otherwise. Someone from our team will be contacting you shortly.
I have never been more disappointed in a vet's office ever. We waited 8 hours and were never seen. No one ever even looked at him to triage him. All they would say is you have 2 people ahead of you and we take critical cases first. They made no effort at all during that time to let me know how it was going. After 8 hours they wouldn't even tell me a guesstimate for how much longer. I left, went home, and regrouped and got him to a different vet. He had to be euthanized because he was too far gone. Additionally he suffered fo... read more

Hi Tina, we are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your pet's visit and so very sorry for your loss. We aim to provide the highest quality of care to your furry friend and are saddened that you felt otherwise. As the only 24 hour Emergency clinic, our wait times do become increasingly long, but it looks like we needed to do a better job of communicating that to you. I appreciate you sharing your story and again, we're sorry for your loss.
I will forever regret taking my beloved cat to this place. They made Buddy and I wait 12 hours before they admitted him. They continuously told me they were receiving critical animals that needed immediate attention but I never saw anything of the sort. When they finally did see Buddy they told me I could wait some more while they ran their tests which at that point I just wanted to go home I was hungry and tired so I made a terrible decision and left Buddy there to be hospitalized. They called me less then a day later and t... read more
I understand emergency and businesses get busy. I called before leaving the house to inquire, the girl said to bring my pup and call when we got there. Great. 10 minutes later while in the parking lot I called and she said they were too busy from the night before and to call Midnight Sun. Letting me know you were too busy on the original call would've been nice to know before loading my pup into the car before hand.
It's sad to see this is the only place open 24 hours because they are worst people to deal with in an EMERGENCY. The receptionist, orange haired lady, treated us horrible after we asked a simple question before bringing our dog in. Very disappointed with our visits here. They simply have no respect for humans or pets! Try your best to avoid this place at all costs if you value good service and your dogs life, cause they clearly don't.

If I could do less than 1 star, I'd give them -5 star. Took our cat there because our vet couldn't get her in and since she was bleeding while urinating needed emergency treatment. They had 1 vet working and made us wait in the parking lot. Waited for 5 hrs and they kept putting our cat last in line as other people came in. Kept asking how much longer and they finally said "it could be up to 12 hour, we're very busy ". We as If they were ok with being sued if our cat died from no treatment. They said "you're welcome to leave... read more

Hi Tim, we're sorry to hear that you had a less than desirable experience at our clinic. Unfortunately, because we are an emergency room, we do see patients based on severity and when a number of severely critical patients come in, it does increase our wait times significantly. We try to see everything we can, as efficiently as possible, but we are currently the only 24 hour ER in the state of Alaska and due to a national staffing shortage, we only have 1 doctor working at at time. We know that regular vet appointments are h... read more
Do NOT take your pet here! I took my cat here with a bad leg injury and sudden blood in her trine. When I checked in over the phone at 6:50 am I told the person on the phone what was going on and she said she would get me in after a few minutes. I waited in my car for 4 hours when my cat started howling in pain so I called to ask how much longer and they said they didn't know if it would be minutes or hours. I called Midnight Sun who told me she needed to be seen right away and took her as soon as I could get there. Pet Emer... read more

Hi Cheryl, we are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your pet's visit. We aim to provide the highest quality of care to your furry friend and are saddened that you felt otherwise. Unfortunately, because we are an ER, we cannot predict wait times and critical emergencies do sometimes have to take precedence, causing increased wait times. We know its hard when your family member is pain, but we do our very best to see things as quickly as possible, in order of severity. We're glad that you were able to find an alternati... read more
I rate this place zero stars, but had to put a one star just to post this review. Service is awful. The wait is excruciatingly long. When you call they tell you "you're next" EVERYTIME, even though hours pass. They also put you on hold and hang up on you. this place is the worst. Next time I'll just wait till other veterinary clinics are open and available.

Hi Breanna, I'm sorry to hear that you had such a negative experience. Unfortunately, due to the fact that we are the only 24 ER in the state of Alaska, our wait times can be very extensive. We are seeing patients from all over and we need to see things in order of severity. The good news is, that if you are waiting in line, your pet is stable. Your stable pet can often be next in line for several hours because we have gotten a number of severely critical animals in that are in need of immediate care. This is the same way th... read more
Waste of 4 hours there to only find the severity of our cats symptoms online. Only take your animal there if they are truest dying then they will see you.
Business response:
William, we know your time is valuable and can assure you we make every effort to see clients in a timely manner. As a walk-in clinic we cannot always predict the wait-time. Emergency cases also take priority at times and do cause inevitable delays. We always try to communicate our wait times to the best of our ability. We appreciate you taking the time to reach out and are always open to feedback and suggestions.
