A good product I received this used product and it worked well and I’m using it as of today.
Cleans well but not perfect for the price This robotic cleaner does indeed clean well. The filter basket doesn’t get perfectly clean by rinsing with the hose but I suspect that means it’s a good filter. However, the “tangle-reducing swivel” on the cable is nonsense. The cable is always tangled, even by the end of a cleaning cycle immediately after untangling it. Unit turns over on its back The media could not be loaded. After activating the unit, I was disappointed when I returned to the pool on a number of occasions only to find the unit on its back and not working/cleaning the pool as I had hoped. However, when the unit completes a full cycle the pool’s walls and floor are clean.
Decent 9550 vacuum, except it keeps going over the same spots & never hits others. Remote is trash. Remote is trash. Does not work. Once you turn it on, you are suppposed to be able to use it to lift the cleaner out of the pool and even navigate the cleaner around the pool. Cleaner does not respond to any commands, including the Lift command.
Good cleaner, 5 year lifespan This was our third Polaris pool cleaner. We purchased this identical one five years ago. We use it at least once a week, year round and take it in the house in between uses. They seem to only have a lifespan of 5-6 years. We probably could have gotten our other one repaired for a few extra months, but the replacement cord is half the cost of a new one. We keep going back to this cleaner because it is easy to use and does a good job.
Brilliant machine, remote is iffy I had a booster motor go out in the pool that drove a Polaris 280 or 380 (not sure which) and thought seriously about getting a new motor and then getting a new pool cleaner or the same type (the one I had was quite old and not very good at its job). Then I looked into the robots and at the cost difference between both approaches. It probably cost me a few hundred more to go with the 9550, but I pulled that trigger. Expensive for what you get... This cleaner was great until it wasn't. Had to replace the cord after 2 years and the motor went out after 3 years. Looks great, but is very expensive for what you get. Definitely doesn't do stairs or small areas such as a separate spa as it tends to hang up on corners. Also, didn't like the fact that it doesn't vacuum in a pattern but goes over the pool randomly every time. Died in less than one year UPDATE #2. Initial swap of control panel did not fix the issue so they also swapped out the motor and cable. Took about 3+ weeks to get unit back but all repairs were under warranty. Used it yesterday for first tim and it worked. Bought a AIPIER as a back up.UPDATE #1: Spoke with Flurida, the parent company of Polaris and they registered my product on the phone and asked me to take the unit to my local Leslie's pool.
