Not for the money we spent.... poor value. Huge price
The service was poor. The food overpriced. No one is careful about allergies. My meal was swimming in the one item I reported as a serious food allergy. The manager was uninterested and indifferent. This was the second time this happened at this restaurant. We were very disappointed.
We made a 5PM reservation, since we had tickets to see John Cleese at 7PM, thinking two hours would be plenty of time, and Portico still made us late for the performance. First off, our appetizers were served before our drink order was brought out. This is a major restaurant faux pas and my wife had to get up and ask about the whereabouts of our drink order. Service was slow. Fall Cobb salad was good and so was lobster Mac n cheese but chicken entree wasn’t good. Not worth the price for quality of food and service.
The food was extremely salty! We ordered soup, salad, sides, two entrees and everything tasted terrible because of the extreme salt. Spoke with manager who was apologetic but had no answers. Friends told us they visited 4 days earlier and had a terrible meal. We asked what was the issue, and to our surprise, they said their meal was ruined by so much salt on everything. My steak was undercooked and I didn't receive the correct accompaniments. I sat and watched my wife eat. When she finished my food came out and she got to watch me eat. The serving staff disappeared and trying to get some pepper for my soup was impossible. The staff need proper training and don't have them sit you on the left side of the restaurant unless you are prepared to have people screaming while watching Sunday night football. 2 thumbs down.
With the exhorbitent prices that Portico gets for food and drinks, it would've been nice if the dining tables weren't in the open and close to each other. The service was painfully slow and as hard as Portico tried to be an upscale restaurant, the noise was still that of a casino. There was no dress code to speak of, which didn't justify the prices. Spent another Birthday at Portico. It is always wonderful! Service and food is amazing!
The food was very good however the service was very slow. There were only 20 people in the restaurant and it took over 20 minutes to get a drink.
