I have been to MANY fine-dining restaurants in New York State. Portico at del Lago Resort and Casino is currently not even on my "favorites" list. My husband and I always get the filet mignon at these type restaurants - - as far as we are concerned, this is the best 'test' of how good a restaurant is. Our server David was wonderful. The food, though, was very disappointing overall. We felt all the food was overthought and 'overdesigned'. The Brussels had too many ideas, and were very acidic, despite the raisins for sweetness. The pepperocinis in the Brussels and cauliflower were completely unnecessary. We will likely not be dining here again.

Probably the worst service in a high end restaurant I have ever seen.....took about 25 minutes to get a drink......then she said they did not have the del lago IPA....how do you run out of your own specialized beer. Took another 10 minutes to get a replacement...... Food was good but not worth the price they charged.....no candles on tables and overall very load.....not real happy......won't go again.....

We were very excited to try this restaurant, but had less than an enjoyable experience. I expected the food to be exceptional, it was good at best. Our service was terrible, our server was nowhere to be found. We told her that we were going to a show at The Vine at 8:00 when we were initially seated and we ended up being late to the show. I don't believe that we will be going to this restaurant again.

I'm not really sure what happened this night at Portico but everything was wrong with it. I will say the manager was apologetic and took care of us but not sure I would take the chance and go back there.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times and I don’t know that I will return anytime soon. The reservation was 30 minutes past the scheduled time, the service was slow and the food was mediocre. On top of everything the restaurant was nearly empty.

Unfortunately, the overall experience was just so-so. We checked in right at 7:30 for our reservation. We were told that we would still have to wait, 'the servers are running around with their heads cut off' according to the hostess. I don't mind a wait, but the explanation was incredibly off putting. So we came back around 20 minutes later and the hostess said she'd have to check with the server first to see if he was ready. I guess he was ok, so she sat us and took our water order; sparkling with lemon, and left the table.... read more

Dinner has been consistently good. The Sunday brunch was mediocre at best. We have fairly high standards and at $63.00 a person in Upstate New York you would think it would be over the top from the food and drink to the service. The food was okay but you would expect a bountifull display and it was not. Even the frittata was really bland. They had lobster tail,but if you didn't eat that the rest was just very average. Service was very slow. The bar area was not crowded. After we ordered our drinks it took a long time to get them. Appeared that there was only one waitress waiting on tables. When making reservation on line you state that the bar area only serves bar food. I was disappointed that we couldn't order from regular menu.
