I've dined at Portico a few times, with good experiences in the past, but it had been some time since our last visit. Our evening started with a wait in line at the host station, wherein we heard the hostess advise the couple in front of us, with an attitude barely glancing up from her ipad, that they needed to know the reason for their delay was because the restaurant was very busy and she didn’t want to overload any of the servers. Service was very slow, we had a 645 reservation, seated at 630. Our food didn’t arrive to our table till 730. We were going to see the 8pm show at the Vine. Bread was never offered to us either. Waitress was pleasant. We had to get to go boxes because we had to eat what we could before getting to our show. Then found out we couldn’t take them in to the show so we had to throw them away. We were not happy since we spent that much money on them.

DINNER STARTED WELL DOWNHILL AFTER THE WINE. PRIME RIB COOKED RIGHT BUT WAS COOL NO STEAK KNIVES HAD TO REQUEST THEM DID NOT REMOVE THE APPETIZER PLATES JUST SEEMED DISORGANIZED. FORGOT THE IRISH COFFE FOR DESSERT AND THEN IT WAS TEPID AND AFTER PAYING BILL SAW WE WERE CHARGED FOR 3 BOTTLES OF WINE BUT ONLY HAD TWO

We went to dinner with friends all our steaks were wrong.. Two of us ordered the garlic and herb butter sauce and they came with Gorgonzola. My husbands prime rib was to have Gorgonzola and it had the garlic butter... Our friend ordered the strip steak and was brought out the skirt steak.... They NEVER apologized they took out drinks and sides off the bill.... So we each still payed $100 for the wrong food... Our waitress Sara I believe was her name was awful obviously overwhelmed... We have been there before and it was very good, but this time it was very bad. I ordered the Prime Rib like I did before and it was terrible I ordered it medium well and it came almost raw and it was without kidding 90% Fat and gristle. The backed potato was so over cooked the skin was black and flaking off and the potato was so hard you could only eat a fork full or so.

I ordered a cosmo with Grey Goose vodka which was an up charge. The drink was skimpy and too sweet. I could not taste the vodka, the waitress offered to take it back but I declined. Not worth the trouble. My spouse ordered veal parm which was good. He also ordered a side of pasta which was ordinary. We split a Caesar salad which was overdressed and covered with jarred Parmesan. The service was ok. The server did not honor a special drink deal due to a glitch in OpenTable. One of the filet mignons was over cooked to my liking and it was dim, so I don’t think the server could see it. I should have sent it back, but I didn’t. The charred broccolini wasn’t great either. The steaks were very charred on the outside too. Probably won’t come back.

Second time dining there. First time had to send food back. This weekend the lamb was so bad and had to spit it out and send back. So I ended up eating a few fries. Not the best for a high end restaurant. Don’t think I would recommend
