The company takes a huge upfront deposit. After just one year renting I have had to pay $700 in fees just to get my deposit back, and I don’t even know for sure that I will get it back. The fees have been having the house washed (something I could have done myself if it wasn’t 35 degrees outside) having the house professionally cleaned, carpets professionally cleaned, and finishing up the required landscaping (things we couldn’t reach ourselves). Horrible people, no heart they take advantage of everyone, terrible unhuman owners.
I have been in my home for going on two months now. When I first moved in my initial move-in checklist had difficulties loading and letting me input information. It took well over a month for someone to understand my issue and resolve it. Even then, I had to call at least 5 to 6 times over the span of four weeks to speak with someone who could finally correct it. This company is a scam plain and simple. I had to move in sight unseen due to moving across the country. Upon moving in, the smoke detector was beeping, the garage door remotes didn't work, there were dead cockroaches in the kitchen, the switch for the garage door was hanging out of the wall, and towel racks were hanging out of the wall. Avoid renting through Progress at all cost if you are able to. My roommate and I have had issue after issue with plumbing, a foundation crack that is causing flooding in the office (that was "fixed"), burst pipes causing mold in cabinets/ walls (that were also "fixed"... though there is still mold on walls). DO NOT RENT FROM PROGRESS EVER I have been a resident since Sept of 2020. When signing my lease I was informed that the water must be in an account in the landlords name and will be billed to me along with my rent. On Dec 10th at approximately 4pm my water was shut off. This company lacks customer service, professionalism and work ethics. They have you pay to get the house professionally cleaned before turning it in. They don’t bother to do a walk through with you once you move out and then charge you for things they shouldn’t even be charging you. All they care about is money and nothing else. Still 3 months after moving out, progress residential refuses to reply to emails, answer phone calls and I've had a few employees hangup on me in mid conversation. These people will steal your security deposit after your finished moving out and taking care of all move out costs.
