Data security issue To apply for the auto refinancing, I clicked through CreditKarma and got redirected to RateGenius website's application page. Soon after I completed application, that included entering my SSN as well, I got spam text on my phone as well as an email, asking me to click on Facebook link. Clearly, my data was breached to hackers! Ridiculous that they don't have a good data security measure on their website!!
Deceptive practices I'm not sure who, in their right mind, would sign a Power of Attorney authorizing their lender to "transfer and assign the legal title to said motor vehicle to anyone whomsoever as may be designated by my said attorney" but it certainly isn't something I'll sign. A POA is NOT required to record a lienholder (at least not in my state). What loan? I filled out the application and that's that....no one called even though they said someone would.....no email to give me an idea of refinance rates even though they said they would......a waste of my time and effort....will never use this service again.....
They will have you sign all this paperwork only to tell you the numbers are wrong and never get back in touch with you to see if they can actually help you. They talk a good game but they are terrible as far as helping refinance. Look elsewhere. I had a hard pull for nothing. Stay away from Rate Genuis.

I applied but didn’t provide SSN So that I could speak to someone before I decided to have my credit pulled and somehow they managed to put several inquires anyway. It’s BS, since I never heard from Anyone ever from this company. Very upset
Dissappointment Approved, sent all documentation over, made arraingements with my bank, - sent random denial letter - then said it was the kind of car I had? although it was worth 20k and I only need 14k to pay off. I think they just catfished me to make a ding on my credit. Shameful practices
This is trash, ran my credit for nothing Don’t waste your time with this brokerage, no one replies from the company or tell you anything after you apply screw credit karma for even selling advertising space to them.
Total disappointment I have applied for a better rate and this is a lesson learned. First my credit score is over 750, I had a multiple offers from different companies to lower my current interest rate but since Credit Karma was giving me good odds I choose rate Genius over other lenders. Prior the application submission I received an email that my application is in process and after a week I called and I've been told that they are not able to get me a lower rate.
