I chose Redeye because of decent reviews. But I had no idea for lunch it is such a "factory". The service was robotic and rushed. The food was salty, overcooked, small portions and boring. I felt like I was a tacky diner just trying to turn tables quickly. Even if the prix fixe was half the price, I would not think it was worth it!
When the waiter replaced used utensils on our table -- ignoring my request not to -- I realized how much this once classy place has fallen. The $63 bone-in was terrible. Now I understand why is was so easy to reserve a table.
We have been in before and remembered it being a great meal. This time that was no difference, however the service was slow and not attentive. I personally have a dairy allergy and when he came to the table I said I have a couple questions. He replied, you're only allowed one. So I laughed and said, I stay away from cow dairy. We went to redeye becasue of the reviews and it's proximity to our hotel. We were underwhelmed by the food and service. The crowd was sparse even for a Monday night, but they were out of a special and one other item. My girlfriend had the softcrab salad. It came with a bed of ingredients that did not make sense that seemed like they could have been out of a chopped kitchen episode. I had a steak which was good and well cooked. We ordered too any dishes. The food was delivered tapas style not in courses which I was baffled by but it was fine. I did not enjoy my light and stormy cocktail ($19) which I was hoping would refresh me but the opposite felt true. Also we ordered a virgin strawberry daiquiri and instead of coming back to tell us it wasn't possible they just went ahead and made a Shirley Temple. I thought that was strange. Overall the meal was tasty but left our pockets empty.
The most inattentive service I can remember. It also took an hour to get three $30+ salads and 1 tuna burger (which was burnt to a crisp). No attempt to apologize made by staff. Wouldn't head back.
We've been to RedEye many times, and many times for brunch. but not for mothers day. The brunch was mediocre at best and the service was very bad. It wasn't that crowded, so it was just inefficiency. It is a shame because we were very excited to go back before the theater and it did not live up to expectations.
Over priced food and drinks - I will not be returning there.
We have been to the Redeye Grill many times. This is the first time our service and food were not great. Good but not great. There was a large group right near us and it seems that they received most of the service. We both had Ribeye steaks, which are normally the tenderest of cuts but this time they were both very difficult to cut and a little more chewy that most times.
