Terrible customer service. Real long story and too much to write but know they outsource their product to independent contractors by region. They (whoever handles the scheduling) canceled our appointment and said we were the ones who canceled. I tried calling the Corporate Office but reached the regional San Diego office who could not answer any questions nor could provide any contact. Just wanted to add a quick update now that this experience is almost over. The permits for our project were finally issued by the City of San Diego on 3/21/23, 15 months after the initial application. Renewal were unable to submit the permit application in the format required by the City, and in the end they had to submit four times. Each time you resubmit you go to the back of the line, which helps account for why this took so very long. I ordered a $13K sliding glass door from this company. The door looks nice for the most part but they left it hilariously unfinished. The door installation included a strip at the bottom interior that wasn't painted or stained. The result is very unprofessional/unfinished looking and not what would be expected for such an expensive home upgrade. Recently had an external grade French Door ordered and installed. The trim work is not what one would expect of a door that cost close to $30K. There were significant gaps in the trim and the nail holes were not filled on installation. There were supposed to be screw caps on the threshold per the installation instructions. When discussing with RBA sales rep the response was the gaps were part of the design and they did not provide the threshold caps despite what the installation instructions indicate. Stay away from this window supplier. As an Architect I require details of the windows so I can integrate them into a building envelope such as stucco siding ect. This company refused to provide me with even the simplest details and even an on line search does not produce any relevant information. Because the client was in Los Angeles they referred me up there but the run around is the same. Horrible stay away.
Window World v. Renewal by Anderson- Replacement windows After the last torrential rains (which I have never experienced in my home), I needed to replace two of my windows due to leaks. We have had an absolutely horrible experience with Renewal by Andersen San Diego Franchise branch. 1. To start when calling you never get a live person....ever. It rings and then goes to vm. You leave a message and maybe someone calls you back maybe not. If they do call you back and you don't answer right when they are calling you GOOD LUCK AND GODSPEED TRYING TO GET AHOLD OF THEM WHEN YOU CALL BACK. 2. Had them come out late March. They promised to deliver everything I asked for for a HIGH fee. Fine, as long as I get the windows/door I want. Tech comes on a day he was not scheduled. None of the windows I selected can be installed. But, these much more expensive ones will work! Imagine that. Also, how much more expensive? Some day someone will get back to me to tell me. I will be upfront and state that my review is not based on your product, it's based on your marketing team's refusal to remove my name and address from your mailing list like I've requested multiple times via my refusing and returning to sender your past solicitations.
