Nigel the program supervisor, the kitchen staff Ms. Diana and Glenda, Mrs. Mattie, Stephen Mrs. Jennifer, TA's and nurses Frank they all kept me smiling and had good spirits. They always talked to me and had an extreme amount of hope that motivated to me believe that everything will be ok. This was the best decision I ever made apart from having children. I feel I have mental clarity and strength and I can see clearly now. I feel I'm part of the River Oaks family now. The cleaning staff was great and the therapists really helped me. The speakers in the groups Demetrius and Tony were inspiring. The nursing team was great and my medications were right. I haven't had any trouble with anyone. When I first got here I was worried but every day has gotten better and better. I'm sad to leave, tis a healing place.
Geneene and Rachel are the best T. A. 's Thankful for all of the counselors but especially Cami, she makes my day everytime I see her, either in therapy or group. I appriciate all the nurses but Ms. Shea and Nurse Cherry are the best. Looking forward to a new start.
Therapy was honestly the biggest help for me while I was here. I really liked talking to my therapist Ali. I am very careful about who I open up to but she has been great to talk to and Therapist Karah as well. her personality and humor were similar to mine and I would say those two impacted me the most. Demitrius is very motivating. he keeps you engaged in his groups and is always positive. Everyone loved his group because it gives you energy and makes you feel hopeful. Hes very inspirational. Robsy is such a super nice guy. No matter what he's doing he would always be attentive and stop to ask if I needed anything. My therapist Safiyyah helped to push me outside my comfort zone and is so great at her job. My case manager Jennifer and my Therapist Trina were very helpful. Jennifer always kept her appointments with me, she was very dependable. Trina was also consistent and helped me print out the documents I needed. Groups were very informative, I enjoyed hearing from the clients experiences in addition to what we were learning. Discussions were directed to stimulate thought and conversation. The nurses were good. The whole staff was great. I haven't had any poor experiences with any one here. Mattie the Care Coordinator was so helpful. She was always available for me and brought me clothes when I first came in and was really messed up, she checked on me and made sure I was ok. My therapist Travis was really really good, he helped me through a lot of hard stuff. I got on new medications and it gave me so much confidence to find that I can get help with the right medications. It built my confidence that I was able... read more
The staff here was wonderful. I couldn't say a bad thing about them. I have a lot of unresolved grief and I've been in a lot of pain. I came here to learn something but I had to leave early due to medical issues. I learned that I don't need drugs anymore. My therapist Brian was great. I had a wonderful experience and would have loved to stay longer. I plan to come back after I get my medical needs taken care of.
TA Cecil kept it real with me and made feel welcome. Karah the therapist was always very cheerful and bubbly, I enjoyed her groups. We got to redecorate the LGBTQ room where they have LGBTQ groups which were so helpful. One of the biggest things that helped me out here the most was the Dharma recovery.
