It was a really good experience. The staff and the people here don't give up on you easy though. They really did their part and showed that they care which helped me a lot. This is the longest I've ever stayed in treatment before. I loved Demetrius and Tony's groups. I didn't want them to end because I wanted to learn more. They give you freedom of choice here. This is the best rehab I've ever been to, other wise I would have stayed. I'm excited to go home and restart my life.
When I first came here I thought I would just go through the motions to make my family happy. Before I got here I was doing pain management. The therapists here really helped me. Amy spent time with me when I was feeling anxious about an important phone call when my boss and she was very sensitive to my needs by allowing me to use her office for a calm space to make my phone call to my boss. PS Summer, Ta Cecil, and Ta Eldred all introduced themselves to me and were real helpful with me getting around to my classes. Cecil and El were really friendly to me, I didn't realize what an important role the staff members play but I quickly saw it by how much they helped me. The energy in the groups was good for me because I felt like I was invited in, I really looked forward to the groups because instead of laying around and doing drugs, I like the sense of closeness and connection they provided. Ms. Coretta always guided me and was always so welcoming, even if she was busy doing something she would either stop what she was doing or tell me what time to come back and every time I came back it was always taken care of. She always took her time to explain the process to me and never left me hanging. TA Big Frank, TA Cecil, Rosby, and Mr. Willie on night shift did their job extremely well. My therapist Brian was amazing. I loved Andrea's groups they were very informative. Therapist Amy was inclusive. Christina made it fun learning about the brain and the disease of addiction through inter active games which was really cool. Saffiyah was awesome and engaging with her group dynamics. The nurse Ms Shay was really really sweet and I related to her a lot because we both experienced loss. Stephanie the house keeper was wonderful! She goes way above and beyond. When I lost something she helped me find it. TA Tanya was awesome too, I had an issue for like a week and she took care of it right away, she stopped what she was doing and helped me. Nurse Shay was amazing. Cecil is always running around getting things done for you. If you ask him to do something for you he's right there "I got you!". TA Tanya and TA Geneen are so sweet. always offer to sit and talk with me and I was able to connect with her. My therapist Ali was AMAZING. She just got things done! She helped me so much with my case manager and her feedback was always so positive and helpful. All the teachers and therapists in groups were excellent as well, I learned a lot & dove straight into it! I liked the processing because it was extremely helpful and wonderful being able to bond and knowing that other people are there going through the same things you are going through.
