The entire kitchen staff here runs the kitchen very smoothly and with strong character. She put together a special hot chocolate night for Christmas for all the clients. She brought in marshmallows and hot chocolate to make sure we had a good time. The kitchen also brought in cookies, doughnuts, cake pops, and icing for everyone to decorate with. I have had the best experience with the medical staff as they have each and every one been very welcoming and great at their jobs. Dr. Amisha really helped with my medication management and has been really involved in my discharge planning to make sure that I have the best transition I can possible have getting ready to go back home from treatment. The nurses have been nothing but fast, considerate, and friendly since I first arrives at River Oaks almost a whole month ago. Nurse Mark is beyond efficient at his job. I was missing medications for a week and he was the one who took the time to stop what he was doing and find it. He likes to joke around a lot which makes it fun.

The therapists have helped me with many different topics. The Counselor Dasmain speaks on forgiveness often which helped me with learning to forgive others and people in my life that I need to practice acceptance around. His groups are very educational and informative. He has helped me deal with real life situations better. He is also super friendly and one of the best therapists Ive ever met.

The classes here have been amazing. I can really relate to Demetrius when he runs his groups. he makes class fun and wants you to participate and get into the lecture. He likes to joke around and has a good sense of humor. His groups are the only groups that I really look forward to each week. I love that he gives out certificates for different lectures that he gives like grief and loss, anger management, trust, and relapse prevention. Rosby the behavioral health technician has gone above and beyond to help with anything I needed and always made me feel comfortable. When I first got here, he helped me get a pack of cigarettes which really went a long way even though it was a small thing. He is a super friendly guy and one of my favorite TA's. He definitely deserves his kudos!

A lot of the staff and techs make sure to talk to people one on one and give personalized help. TA Jennifer helped me to get razors when we couldn't find any on the floor and she went home on her own time and made sure to bring in a brand new pack of razors for the guys in building 4 to make sure we could all be comfortable and look pretty! She's always somewhere doing something to help others and she's never on her cell phone while at work which makes sure she is present and available. Pete is part of the maintenance staff and he is very approachable. he will go out of his way to help you. Somebody had some boots that were coming apart and he actually super glued them back together to make sure they could get around comfortably. I've never seen a staff member go so above and beyond to help before. It definitely made an impression on me.

The food has gotten a lot better. Since Marrissa in the kitchen has started recently it has gotten even better. She is a very good cook and has a really sweet personality. She served food to us during meals and is always very friendly. I think that even though she is new here she has definitely brought her own improvements with her in terms of customer service and quality of the food.
