First house call to look at the job and prepare bid was friendly and clear. Scientific carries a line of high quality but reasonably priced vinyl windows, and their bid was a bit lower than windows that are roughly equivalent in quality. Scientific Home Services (Jon) responded very quickly when I asked for an in-home estimate to replace the one large window in my bedroom. He calculated the cost on the spot and left me with a formal quote. When I placed the order the estimated time was 6 weeks. Almost to the day I got a call from Mark to schedule the installation. We talked to many window companies, big names and small ones. We did quite a bit of research. It was more complicated than we expected. Most of the quotes were for full replacement and repair which was $30k up to $55k (total shock factor for us). We then found a couple that only replaced the inside of the window like Scientific. The two-man crew arrived on-time and got the full two-floor 26 double-hung vinyl window job done in two days, as promised. The installers moved everything out of the way and when the job was done they cleaned up thoroughly. They even re-hung the curtains. Very good professional installation and they answered all my questions. We chose the Imperial LS, not the cheapest but not the most expensive product out there. We hired Scientific Home Services to install new windows in our home. Jon came out first and gave us an estimate for the total cost of the project. We got several quotes and after seeing a lot of bad reviews from some of the large well known window companies, we had narrowed it down to Gilkey and Scientific. The difference between Gilkey's quote and Jon's was huge. In fact, Gilkey told me I would get "crap" at the price we were aiming for. Damian Kusek installed 14 windows in our home and was extremely professional. He arrived on time, talked us through the "color dilemma" of the window trim, and answered all of our questions/concerns patiently. He and his co-worker, John, covered our furniture, floors, etc. and cleaned up when they were finished. Damian was meticulous in his work and took real pride in installing our new windows. It wentpretty well actually, no complaints. The windows were great. I will use them again if I need further service. Theyinstalled 13 windows.
