We obtained proposals from 4 window sellers/installers: Pella, Felco, Gilkey and Scientific Home Services. We met sales reps in our home from each company. All of the windows were within an acceptable range of industry metrics. We also did not go to the top of the line as we deemed it unnecessary for the cost differential (no need to get premium windows to get reasonable efficiency and quality benefits). unknown Replaced 13 windows of various widths with double-hung vinyl windows with low-E glass, argon gas, and better-vue screens. There was a slight delay beyond the time frame they had estimated of when the windows would come in but nothing too bad. All communication and workers were very professional and tidy and everything was completed in a day. There was a crack in one of the windows when they installed it but they replaced it as soon as they could.

Went very well and gave good feedback on my other windows... Worked well with my tenant. Repaired my sliding glass doors, with the warning that the glass could break on removal. Luckily, the glass held and is good to go for many more years... Did a great job!

Great from beginning to end. Last fall we had several windows replaces including an entire wall of large windows and sliding door-windows. The job SHS did then made us go back. It's a terrific company: very fast, efficient, excellent work at reasonable prices. In this case, the windows were measured, ordered and installed with minimum fuss. The job was completed in a matter of hours. Replacement windows like this save money on heating and even these two have already improved the quality of the two rooms they're in. We could not be more pleased with their products or their service. Jon came out to our home to give us an estimate on what the cost of the new windows would be. He understood the dilemma we have as there is a portion of our home outside that never sees the light of sunshine. So in the winter, as snow collects, this part of the house is the very last to have snow or ice melt. Our opinion of SHS was favorable from our first contact. Jon is very pleasant, friendly, and professional. He explained everything and also told us what not to spend money on, like triple glass. The ordering process was simple with a reasonable down payment. Mark worked with us to schedule installation. We needed to delay installation a few weeks due to business travel, and he accommodated us without complaint and we settled on a date. Scientific Home Services was an easy and satisfying company to deal with for my project. Six windows were measured efficiently by one of the company's principals; an expert at presenting the product. I was told the order would take 6 weeks, but they were ready in 4 weeks. The installers, Damian and his partner, were pros. Installation took about 5 hours. John was our sales representative and was extremely easy to do business with. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional and trustworthy. He didn't disparage his competitors like several other companies we met with, notably Feldco, who spend all their money on advertising versus product quality. The installation team did a fantastic job as well. These guys stand behind their work as they did some minor re-work for us with no questions asked. Strongly recommend them. 51 replacement windows - great job.
