I have been with this bank thru all their mergers in the last 15 years. I have had as many as 5 accounts at their bank but now only three. In July I made a purchase at a store & the employee stated the charge did not go thru. She then ask me to re-enter my card info. When I found the double charge on my debit card & disputed the charge The sent me a letter stating they would not charge back my disputed charge amount. First contacting a Truist teamster with knowledge is horrible. I received my mortgage statement stating that I was in $4429.00 in the negative. I called twelve different times and spoke with several teamsters who could not come up with an answer as to why. My mortgage went up from $632 per month to $1249.00 I contacted the tax division and spoke with *****, who stated that only $56 per month was paid to my property tax/escrow account. In December 2022 my credit card was hacked with several out of state charges and no alerts from Truist bank. I immediately called customer ********************** and had the card deactivated. Following that I conducted multiple in-person visits to our local bank to resolve the fraud issues. It was explained to me that when a fraud occurs the bank initially credits the cards account with the fraud incidents reported. Then a company named "Charge Back," conducts the adjudication process. 08/10 went online to order a shed. The shed costs $3050.00 and my limit was $3000.00, It declined immediately by *********** Called the bank to get this pushed through (Truist) and was told they could not increase my limit on the phone b/c I just ported my phone so they couldnt update my limit. Meanwhile the declined charge of over 3k is pending on my account. I was forced to drive 30 minutes to get to the closest branch to have my limit increased. Truist's automated phone system cuts in and out after 9:00 pm.
I have had many accounts and I've never had the kind of issues with any other that I'm having with truist. And it is sad because I've had this account for years but am now considering closing it. It is deteriorating and I have a feeling that policies are being changed without notification to the customers. I got scammed and Truist did not have my back! I repeat, they don't care about you!!!!! They refused to credit me from fraud!! I thought all banks would do this. Stay away from this bank. I have never had such a bad experience with banks. This is unbelievable.
I hate this bank. Nothing they do works correctly since the merger. The only reason I am with them is because ******* isn't operating in *******. They change dates on my bill payment, overdrawing my account and charging me. Their online banking is always glitchy with passwords duplicating willy-nilly and switching back to previous passwords. Got a new credit card from Truist and the first time I tried to use it it got rejected.Called customer ********************** and they passed me from one person to another and eventually I found I had been on the phone for over 45 minutes and they would not verify my ID unless I could remember an address I lived at over 20 years ago, I could remember ths street but not the number.
