I applied for a loan to purchase a car. Loan officer told me with a good credit score I should be between 8-9% interest rate. A bit high but okay. Score comes back at 796 and my interest rate was a 12%??????? How is this possible? Good scores use to mean lower interest rates. Next I received no paperwork on first payment, payment date, etc. Only paperwork I got was my credit score. Union Rd Truist is NOT the one. Ill be taking my business to the credit union from now on. The on-line banking for Truist is utterly unacceptable. Every time I try to log in it replaces my hidden password with a different one that is much longer (you can tell by the dots that indicate the hidden password). It usually logs in after hitting the login button again. However, approximately once a month it locks me out of my account for too many attempts (even though it was actually only one attempt). Refinancing my truck and needed a payoff letter from Truist, unable to process online, so had to go into a branch, employees were friendly but no one knew how to print a payoff letter. After nearly 30 min I was handed one which I submitted only to find out it didnt have a mailing address, my bank called Truist to ask for mailing address to send the check and got the run around and was told I had to request a new letter. Despite my initial hopes, *** been disappointed with my experience at Truist Bank. Delays in payment processing have been a consistent issue, leading to unnecessary stress and inconvenience. To make matters worse, there seems to be a lack of transparency with transactions often being shown as pending for prolonged periods. This bank is the worst. I have a business account with them that was originally opened with BB&T over ten years ago in which I never had any problems. I deposited a cashier's check which I have always been told is treated as guaranteed funds but not with this bank. Truist placed a hold on my cashier's check which really shocked me. I reached out to the bank by calling their customer ********************** number and was told it is up to the discretion of the bank hold all checks regardless of if it is cashier's or personal. ... read more

This bank has caused nothing but headaches. And now they sent a letter at 6pm on a FRIDAY night, of a HOLIDAY weekend to tell me they dont want my business or money. With no explanation. And no-one to talk to. The branch manager was rude and dismissive, and refused to give me an explanation. He was display in a hurry to end the discussion. I want everyone to know in what a dismissive, disdainful, and dehumanizing way they treat their customers. I am HAPPY to take ALL of my accounts somewhere else.

Today I decided to change banks after 25 years. I even stayed through their transition. But today, after I made a deposit with the *** machine and the amount on the receipt was wrong, but the image was shown correct, I went into the bank to talk to someone about it. There were at least 4 tellers walking around and no one except for the teller at drive through acknowledged my husband and me. I make payments electronically and was never late to my previous mortgage company. Truist bought my previous mortgage company but the electronic check sits on someone's desk until it is late with a late penalty assessed 3 or 4 times a year.Today I received a late payment charge dated 5/17/23 and the money came out of my account 5/08/******* appear to do this intentionally to generate late fees.I see a lot of complaints after mergers.

I had an auto loan with Truist. When I sold the vehicle, the buyer financed it with their local credit union. Before arranging payment, I asked Truist how to do so, and they said the buyer sends Truist a check for the purchase price, and any overpayment is mailed to me at my address on file. The buyer's ** sent Truist a check for the purchase price.
