Terrible bank. I am switching to another bank shortly. I had set up a living trust account years ago where (with my bank BBT that Truist recently acquired) all my accounts continued to be in my name as the owner and trustee. As of this past Saturday, I could not access my checking or savings on the app. Called the customer ********************** number and was told it was a security issue and to visit a branch. It's virtually impossible to talk to anyone at Truist. The branch I use (************, **) simply does not answer the phone and you are not even given an opportunity to leave a message. When you call the Truist "Service" Center you must navigate through a seemingly endless sequence of menus before you can talk with a human.
Truist will not let you spend your own money. After over three different occasions in one week of trying to purchase an online item they continued to decline the purchase even with Truist on the phone while I attempted again to purchase the item, it was declined. Their algorithm kept declining it with no way for them to override the algorithm. I could not spend my own money!!! I had plenty of money on multiple accounts. Tried Credit card, Debit card. Our "loan" was arranged entirely by the original service provider without our knowledge. Never ONCE have they discussed the loan with us, and never ONCE have we seen what the payment plan is, nor what the interest rate is. Never ONCE have we recieved a statement of account, until here, over a year later, they show us as missing ALL payments with fat fees being added to our balance. Yet we have never agreed to ANY TERMS AT ALL with them.
This is the worst bank to deal with on the face of the planet. Customer ********************** is incredibly rediculous. I called in got hung up on 6 times and transferred 10 times. Just to get a loan statement?
I was a victim of credit fraud because of Truists poor practices. Truist gave someone an unsecured personal loan In The amount of $26,000. It was an online application and no proof of identity was given. They also allowed a credit card and a checking account to be opened at the same time. They did not alert me to the problem. After banking with Suntrust/Truist for 18 years I have been treated like a criminal. I had a fraud alert which I then looked at my statement online and found other fraud transactions. However after reporting them I was told my claim was denied because there were other transactions in between those I didnt claim fraud on. I accidentally overpaid an item that was overdrawn I reported that I am having the vendor reverse the payment can you please take off the ***** I am allowed up to *****. they said since a courtesy one was done for me already they couldn't do one and it's only ***** dollars come on you are getting the money back. I know this bbb rates but how can you give this company an A rating when their service ***** and thus institution helps no one.give them the * rating they deserve
