I have been with BB&T for over ten years. In the last year or so, they were taken over by Truist. Service has gone way down hill and they nickel and dime the customers for fees left and right. Local Bank Managers are not empowered to help the Customer or fix bank caused issues. The last straw for me is that they have held my mobile deposited paycheck twice for TEN DAYS in the last two months for "doubtful collectability". Someone opened an account in my name with Suntrust right before it merged and became Truist. I opened a fraud case about it and was told I would receive an investigation report within 30 days. I would like to point out here that when I called 'Suntrust' at this time, I was greeted by the automated system stating 'thank you for calling Suntrust now Truist. Truist is by far the worst bank I've ever done business with. Customer ********************** is non-existent. The only reason they get 1 star is I couldn't leave review with no stars. I was with SunTrust for about 10 years, had great customer **********************. This "******************** institution" will only give you grief.

I went in for a name change. They closed an old account and told me to call the number on my card to redeem or transfer my points to my new card. The guy that helped me mentioned youll want to get those points switched over! Apparently that cant be done, no one knows the right answers to any question and they just shoot themselves in the foot every time someone else makes up an answer for truist.

This is the worlds worst in terms of customer **********************. You cannot talk to anyone when you call them, They the not provide a way to get information without driving to the branch and waiting till someone who has nothing to do for help. I waited for 25 minutes to talk to someone only to be informed that she was leaving for the day.

I have had a terrible experience with this bank. A few days ago I made a transfer to a friend through *****. All under Truist's terms and without doing anything illegal. The transaction was classified as suspicion for being a possible fraud. They held the shipment for 24 hours until I called customer **********************. After the Truist staff verified all the information they requested in a conversation of at least 30 minutes, they told me without further ado that they could not help me and that I had to go personally to... read more

Truist took a great bank and a good bank, Sun Trust and BBT, and ruined them both and created a ************ at best. Communication is awful, lost documents, rude phone staff, confused tellers. Phone reps tell us to go to branch, ****** tells us they cant help us and calls for us. then they tell us it in the works and weeks go by and then more additional charges and we resubmit the same paperwork again and a dozen hours of my time later and we are back to square one. Banking on Truist is a nightmare. I have been trying to close my accounts for about ten months. I have made multiple trips to close the accounts but all in vain. Main reason is that the staff is not trained, To save money theres no Manager, no more personnel banker, The local branches are empty.I have been with the trust or BB&T for over 17 years, now its time to say goodbye to Trust.*****

Dear god. They took over my mortgage from ************ Ameris was pretty neutral, had a decent online portal to setup auto-pay and login to view balances, escrow, etc. Trust online sign-in claims I already have an account (I do not). So I can't reset a password or find my user ID (because I never had either one). Call support, they give me a username and password to use after a lengthy process.
