Do not bank with this incompetent bank. We have banked with all of its predecessors and never had a problem until Truist took over. We started banking there when it was southern national. That was over 40 yrs ago. We had a CD and a checking account. The CD drew ******** which was withdrawn and put into the checking account to be used by my grandparents when they needed something or wanted to go on a trip. Terrible change from SunTrust. Nothing the same. Racking $20 monthly fees because your direct deposit hits a day after they close their books on 27th. ATM locations. Use their bank or pay the $ 3 they charge
So, I am a BBT customer since 2016. I was very happy with my bank. Things got done and if s.th. went wrong they took care of me. Today's transaction is a great example how Truist works now. My CC payment is due on the 21st. I made a payment on the 20th from my Truist account to my Truist CC. All on the same online banking. I went about my weekend, spending based on what the truist app told me was my available balance. I was expecting a deposit monday that didnt come and a recurring charge sent my account negative. I deposited cash to bring the account current. The next business day my expected deposit still didnt arrive and another charge hit my account sending it negative again. If I could rate 0 I would. What a horrible bank!!! What a horrible bank!! A a horrendously horrible bank Ive ever ever experienced such a horrible experience with a bank. Currently at the bank to withdraw my whopping 300 dollars and never look back.

I was charged an overdraft fee for having a positive balance and I have overdraft protection with my savings but they said it was their discretion to charge me the fee instead of transferring the money into my savings and are refusing to give me the overdraft fee back. They talk to you like youre stupid and wont let you finish what you have to say before hanging up on you. I have been with Sun Trust for years. Ever since the merge to Truist has been a nightmare. Just had my credit card hacked even though I replied No back on the Fraud alert they let the charge go threw. It is almost two weeks now and no new card. They have twice now said the will mail card out. Told me they will express to me it will take 2-3 days. Still no card. Went to bank today no card has been sent. They don't overnight cards, so it will be another 2-3 days. Now my auto payments can't be run and I am getting notice my acc... read more

If I could give no stars I would. My parents and I were with BB&T for years but when it merged with SunTrust to become Truist they fell into the toilet. The customer ********************** in person, online, and on the phone is atrocious. Their fee structure should be investigated as criminal or in the least unethical. The delay of payments and efficiency of their online banking services in general is also horrible. You bank at Truist at your own risk. I was scammed of $17,000 from my checking acct. When I reported it to Truist fraud department they asked for details and I told them what happen. . I waited ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************** anyway. Were not talking about $1000 but $17000. My husband and I are senior citizens and that money was all we had.
