TRUIST BANK IS SCAMMING ELDERLY PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR MONEY. Truist bought my inlaw's mortgage from Freedom Mortgage a little less than 2 months ago. My father-in-law is 84 years old and is blind with lung cancer. My mother-in-law is 77 with dementia. My husband and I manage their finances remotely as they are not able to. TRUIST is both incompetent but malicious. We were (past tense) long time CRESTSTAR & then SUNTRUST customers of over 44 years until recently when TRUIST arbitrarily and with malice closed both our checking & CD accounts which had over 730 Thousand Dollars after we had complained to Bank Regulators about a long hold on an ************** Check" from another bank that they deemed suspicious, possibly fraudulent, maybe uncollectible, etc. Actually, the ************** Check cleared the very next day, yet TRUIST (SCREWIST) continu... read more

You can never depend upon what they tell you your balance is. They will randomly take money out of my account for up to a week, put it back in and then a few days later randomly take out a different amount (and this isn't holds either such as paying for gas at a pump). I've also purchased groceries before and a week later purchase groceries again from the same place, they won't take the money out from my first visit until my second visit and they come out at the same time. Do not bank with Truist. Worst one I have ever dealt with. We had multiple accounts with Suntrust including a business account. Now that it is Truist, we are getting "adminstrative holds" on our business deposits. The holds are 10 days long. Hard to run a business when we need the capital to order parts.

This bank has less of an objective than terrorists. If you have this bank dont ever move, dont ever change your phone number because they will lock you out for your security. Unfortunately, this review wont change anything because corporations like this have a fake power that we allow them. I can make my payment but cant update my information. Customer ********************** is a joke. They think they are the customers.

BB&T at Oak Island is now TRUIST. I would warn people to stay away from this bank. I selected 1 star but they get a 0!! I set up a Money Market account 6 months ago. The account got closed without any reason. They sent the close out check to my residence even though they had my mailing address (a PO Box). When the close out check was returned to them, they did not contact me, even though they had my phone number and email address. This is a terrible bank. Their website had inaccurate information regarding my existing available funds, which caused an overdraft to my account. I have a screenshot to prove it. The screenshot is clear and unambiguous. But they refused to credit my account the $36 overdraft fee. This has happened twice. Im done with Truist. I recommend that you AVOID THIS BANK!

THEY GAVE MY MONEY AWAY TO THE ******** It is an escrow account. I never received notification. They a letter was sent by certified mail but no one signed for it! By chance I found out because I was calling about something different. Now I have to wait until 2023 to call the state to get it back. The 1-844-487xxxx number is incompetent. I called my local branch and they were helpful and kind. When I reopen this account it will NOT be with Truist! BB&T was run much better!!!

This company is a fraud.There is no phone number on their website.I called their 470 number listed here on bbb.org, to report a fraudulent transaction they made and the call did not go through, I got disconnected immediately
