I moved out of the area and stopped using the checking account. When I went to close it today, they had been charging a month $20 "maintenance fee". Just another way too ***** their "customers". They are terrible. Don't bank with them.

HORRiBLE!!! I had some fraud occur on my PayPal which I solved but Truist already put a hold on my card; I called Truist to inform them that the matter of fraud had been solved; they could not could not remove that hold and now I have to change all my subscriptions and auto pay while Truist charges me overdraft fees!! I'm trying to close my Truist account and swithed to my Navy Fed account. About every 4 months these piece of work hit me with multiple overdraft fees. They will hold a deposit for 3-4 days while they allow pending debts flow out until I reach a negative balance. Then they register my deposit just after they take their pound of flesh. CS is in ***** never once have I spoken to an AMERICAN, local banks defer to their parent company because "it is an electronic" transaction. WORST BANK EVER!!!! They lied to me over and over about not receiving my gap refund. Its been weeks and they are yet to apply the funds to my account. I've been calling for weeks and they threaten to file a restraining order on me if I go into a branch. Nobody know anything when you call them and I can never speak to a manager. Nobody know why they haven't applied it to my account and all they can say is its showing they they received it. I have been dealing with this going on a month now.

******** ********* is the worst of all banks, they want help you when you walk in, they will not take any time to see what you need they have a speech already planned in their head of what they are going to say to you, before you Walkin. there online service sinks. their customer ********************** is less than that. i will never ever bank with Truist ever again. I have had an account when they were bb&t and I really liked the bank. Since the change this bank has gone to the pits. My account has been frauded so many times I joke that I can wall paper a wall with all the debit cards. DO NOT OPEN ANY ACCOUNT WITH THIS BANK. Your money is not safe at this bank. My account was frauded a week ago. I reported it Monday. They froze my new account and did not let me have access to my money. I don't even know where to start with this. This has been THE worst experience that I have ever had in all of my adult years, which are plenty. In May 2021, I purchased a car, and financed it with the dealership through Suntrust. I have always had a great experience with them. However, it became Truist and this is when the nightmare began. Made my electronic auto loan payment on 8/29/22, it was pulled from my UWCU checking account on 8/30/22. On 9/9/22 I get a post card in the mail stating my auto loan was past due. I look at my UWCU account, see the money was removed from it, look at my Truist auto loan and see they received it and then rejected it. The worst bank in the world? DO NOT BANK HERE!!!! They are unprofessional and lazy. I walked into the bank for one account and left with two. They were able to cancel the one that I did not authorize. After that my Zelle didn't work, I would call and get no solution. I fixed it myself. After that they continued to charge my account fee for paper statements, I have called multiple times, and no solution.
