I needed to go into a Truist Branch to close out my mother's account who had passed away. I called a branch and the bank employee asked me if I have internet and it is good to go online to make my appointment. So I made my appointment for another branch closer to my home. I printed out my confirmation. They even sent me an email confirmation morning of my appointment. The overdraft thing they every month is ridiculous. When it was sun tryst my card would not go through unless I had the money there truist let's it go through. Then they don't won't to help you out I'm a senior on fixed income and these people are making money off us. They locked my son's account he finally told them to close it and know they won't a bunch of overdraft charges. This bank is a nightmare customer ********************** us a joke

I am a self employed individual with a business checking account and two personal checking accounts. Every month I deposit anywhere from $10,000 to $18,000 into my business account (generally one deposit per month), after which I transfer the bulk into my personal account. In August I did the same, but when I made a transfer into my personal account Truist placed a hold on the amount transferred. The transfer was set up to be made on Aug 8, and the online banking notice tells me that funds wont be released until the 18th. Af... read more

These guys are criminals. I tried to pay off my mortgage. I was down to $3000. Called and got the payoff amount, $3200, but it "has" to be mailed to me in writing, or it can't be done. I didn't want to have this be my one and only late payment, so I figured I'd make one more online payment then as soon as it posted, then call and get the payoff in writing with the rest of the month ro spare. They are terrible!!! Ever since they switched to truist it *****.... Every time I try to pay something online through my debit card it declines it because it's suspects it's fraudulent activity.... Do not come here do not switch to this bank if you have this Bank go to somewhere else

They charge you a $12 fee regularly if you dont have a high enough income, its like as soon as they see you havnt been adding to your account in a while they start charging $12/month, theyre customer ********************** is an absolute nightmare though, go ahead and call in sick for a day because I spent 1/2 a day just trying to close my account, its minimum 1-2 hour commitment just trying to get things sorted out. I understand exactly what everyone here is saying and how horrible the experience with Truist has been. I feel for you all! Ive never had such awful service anywhere and I spent countless hours over months trying to get our family out of Truist. It was my parents life savings and I worried every day that Truist would fold or just keep their money or let someone hack into the account and steal it. I was DISTRAUGHT. Finally, a very nice bank manager in another state gave me great advice on how to close our account and get out ... read more

Dont trust these people with your money! Its a bunch of incompetent jerks. On 08/01/2022, I was reviewing my checking account and noticed a pending transaction for transferring $1000 to an account that I didnt recognize. It only showed the last 4 digits of the account the money was being transferred to. I called the customer ********************** and was on phone with them for 45 minutes.
