I decided to invest my money, time and oral health with Smile Direct Club. Three years of non-stop back and fourth re-evaluation kits/retainers. Several occasions aligners fit very loose, no compression leaving me frustrated and confused. I contacted Smile Direct Club to order my new aligners since they sent me the impression kit. Smile Direct TOOK $99 out of my bank account without permission. I have several emails with proof that I never confirmed a charge. I woke up this morning very upset. One that's FRAUD. Two I feel my personal information was compromised and the run around with customer service was enough to literally make anyone go cray. I've had touch ups and followed directions for nearly a year; these aligners have ruined my bite and I've seen very little movement. The one top tooth I wanted fixed, remains pushed back. Instead, my bottom teeth have all shifted, resulting in a very unusual bite. I asked for a refund power their policy, but I've yet to hear back. I can not recommend these aligners.

They refuse to give you back your money. I have reached out over 8 times and they keep claiming that someone will call you back to start the refund process. I am going to call my bank and do a charge back. They are absolute scammers. If you look at all the negative reviews on here all they do is copy and paste the same ridiculous message saying to contact "reviews@smiledirect" by someone named Ann. Get a second opinion from an orthodontist first. I thought I would be a great candidate given that I had braces a decade prior but had stopped wearing my retainers a few years after. Upon finishing the 6 month treatment I went to an orthodontist to get real retainers made and was told that I needed to have braces on my upper teeth to fix protrusion and vertical alignment issues. My dentist has additionally told me that I will need to have a gum graft surgery to fix gum recession that occurred while wearing the aligners. The ... read more

Smile Direct Club's customer service is terrible and they do not follow up with you at all during the process. I had to have a touch-up done less than 2 years after my original treatment because the retainers they sent didn’t fit properly, causing my teeth to shift. I just finished another 5 weeks of aligners and my teeth are worse than when I started! 1. SDC deceptively advertises itself as cheaper than regular orthodontics. Initial costs may seem lower, but SDC requires patients to order new $100 retainers every six months to maintain SDC benefits. A local orthodontist examined my SDC retainer after 6 months & said it was perfectly fine & these retainers commonly last multiple years. This local ortho sells 4 sets of retainers for $600 & each retainer should last a minimum of five years if not multiple years longer. This was such a mistake! I originally was told it would take 9 months to fix my teeth as I already had metal braces four years prior and was just needing to fix some moving. It took three years of them jerking me around before I gave up. The aligners never fit! You’re constantly being told come back in and they just send you more that don’t fit.
