I wish I could go back in time and NOT choose Smile Direct as an option for orthodontist work. One must be under the guidance of a dentist not virtual and manage it alone. My bottom teeth loosened during the process which alarmed my regular dentist. I may need to have a permanent splint put in to keep them intact. In addition, I have ordered new retainers twice and twice received only the bottom not the tops. I would leave zero stars if possible. Don’t waste your money, it DOES not work. I have before and after pictures. I did the six month treatment plan. When it was unsuccessful I was told I would need additional treatment for $99/month. After fighting with them they agreed for five more months of treatment for no cost. At the end of that time frame there was still almost no improvement. Certainly not straight teeth and did not match the model of what they promised my teeth would look like. I’ve had to buy 3 impression kits because my orders keep getting screwed up. Ive done everything I was supposed to, sent photos in and all, and it said I was approved and my photos was approved and they were working in the lab on my smile plan and to give them 72hours. But I’ve waited over a year for aligners that never came.

Don’t waste your money, did not work. Made a tooth loose and made my jaw click while trying to force the aligners in. Went to my dentist and he recommended that I stop wearing the aligners. August 2022 called their SDC Support Dental Team and complied with all the request to get a refund and cancel program. I sent the photos they requested three times via email and I even sent the photos with the retainer back in September 2022 through certified registered mail. I started my journey with sdc and i am now paying for something that is not even worth it. I started my journey and broke a liner i tried putting on thr next liner which never fit properly. I reached out multiple times there after for their life time guarantee and was told i could retune but i had to send photos and my teeth and etc. I asked for a smile stretcher to do so never recieved. Everytime you have to deal with this company. Its always the most horrific experience. Bought retainers. People say they will ship. Nothing. Nothing for months on end. Every single time. Its crazy.

Have made numerous attempts to contact SDC via email ( which is what they ask you to do) - absolutely no response. They have no problem sending repeated emails and texts for me to purchase my retainers though. Ironically, I already purchased retainers after first round of aligners were almost done. Bottom teeth moved very little if they moved at all. Was told to send pictures and then had to do another set of impressions. Had to repeat treatment as first round of aligners did nothing to bottom teeth. Second round was no bett... read more

I began my treatment in March 2022. I completed my initial treatment plan as prescribed - I mean following the instructions to a T, but ended up needing a 4-month touch-up...and then another 4-month touch-up. My teeth still are not as straight as my initial 3D scan showed after 10 months, but I was so done with the process and SDC customer service that I just wanted the retainers to move on from this nightmare of a company. I started my aligner treatment in April 2022, and after the first treatment I wasn't satisfied because the aligners had created new spaces back by my molars, so I had SDC reassess my teeth. SDC agreed I needed more treatment, so they sent me another set of aligners. After the second treatment I still had the same problems, plus the retainers they prescribed didn't fit well.
