I was scheduled for an echocardiogram and they sent my documents by email and it did not work. When I scheduled it they did not tell me what the cost was with insurance. I get there and finish there multi page electronic paperwork and they promise me a hard copy. They told me I owe an outrageous price and they cant tell me why it is so high. I put it on my credit card nad never got a receipt. i went to my procedure and the technician was really good. The admin was absolutely horrible. I never got a receipt. I called 3... read more
If you decide to come here be ready to go back home and come back a whole work shift later. Everyone who was in the waiting area when I got to the hospital has already been sent out, back home. I am still waiting and have been "first one to call next" for two hours while everyone who got here AFTER me has gotten in as they come. I got here at 5pm and am still waiting..
A visit to the ER was quite an experience, not in a good way. The waiting area is small, no way to keep your distance. Masks are required, but this isn't enforced. People with a fever are right next to someone with a sprain. Forget HEPA, all vitals and stats are taken in the public space. I know more about the people sitting around me then I should. I know everyone is short staffed but this was like being herded like cattle. Edit: website shows 7 minuets for ER wait. I was there for 5 hours, over 3 of those in the waiting r... read more
This hospital is killing Covid patients with Remdesivir. My brother was given this drug and had a bad reaction to it.... But they never stopped giving it to him. Look up side effects of Remdesivir. And they also upped his morphine dose every day even though his medical files state when asked if he had pain he answered "no" Morphine given at large doses decrease oxygen levels. Why are they pumping Covid patients with morphine?? Ta nurse also accidentally ripped out his PIC line when rolling him over which caused SEPSIS in ... read more
Let me start by saying the nurses in the ER and ICU treated me great. However, when I was moved to 3rd floor the nurses were horrible. They were rude, disrespectful and lazy. I would press my call button and 30 minutes later I could still hear them talking and laughing. The average wait time after using the call button was 35 minutes. Three times it took 45 minutes even though I told them I needed to be cleaned up after a loose BM. i ended up with a painful rash from sitting in my feces. After 6 days, and a few nights... read more
*Update - Monday AM and now maybe if everything goes perfectly they MIGHT be able to get us in tonight or tomorrow. AKA hopeful for tonight. Sound familiar? It's now 13 days since my wife has been checked. I guess high risk really means who does the charge nurse deem fit to bring in? They did say we could drive 30 mins to the ER if we have concerns, so that's neat. What if something medically happened to our baby in this meantime? Is that not a lawsuit waiting to happen? Induction delayed by 4 days and your system allowed a ... read more
I'll just list a few issues my partner and I encountered while being at St. David's Medical Austin north center. 1.Nurse(Anjanette) catches attitude and rolls her eyes because she was wrong about giving the patient his medication. I simply stated I wanted to verify with her boss and she was upset with that. 2. Anesthesia doctor actually stepped on the patients cards that are connected to his body and the doctor did not care. The patient did not feel safe with that doctor, so he had to request someone else. 3. It took 45 ... read more
The hospital its self is amazing and i love them, and will always refer people to them especially for OBGYN delivery but the billing department is a nightmare. I can never seem to get anyone from the actual hospital on the phone for some reason. I work across from the hospital and i actually do billing for a different clinic. They have my insurance on file but never ran it and now got notified that it went to collections on September of 2021. I don't have a problem paying anything i owe, but i need to talk to someone first a... read more
Went to the ER with a life and death emergency. Had to sit in the lobby and then had to be taken to a public bathroom with the help of my daughter and produce a urine sample before I could be sent back to the ER. Spent 36 hours in the ER waiting to be admitted to the hospital. The waiting and the ER were pure chaos. I would not recommend this hospital if you are gravely ill you will die before you get admitted.
