I had issues with a mouse in our apartment and after a few calls we had maintenance guy to fix the problem by closing the cracks and holes on the wall. Nate, the maintenance personnel was very helpful and did a great job.
I had been looking for an apartment for months. Every time I called about an apartment that looked good I was told it was leased. I called the Hamilton Company and they showed me a great apartment the first day. Even though I was a student without any credit history I was approved the next day. My friends say I have the nicest apartment in Allston. The only negative thing I can say is that they need to work with their receptionist. She needs to be more friendly and not so abrupt. Despite many of the negative reviews here for the Hamilton Company, I really have no complaints. I have lived here for a year and of course it is Allston and it doesnt have the greatest apartment building in Boston, but they are much neater and more maintained than most of the apartments that I have been to in Allston. I have seen maybe 2 small roaches the entire time I was here, and other than that no bugs at all. Building is relatively quiet and I have enjoyed it and wouldnt be moving if I hadnt gotten a job in DC next yea... read more

Do not rent an apartment managed by the Hamilton Company. They never respond to emails or maintenance requests. Our CO detector was broken for days with no repair. There is frequent late-night noise that management does nothing about. There was even a large fire in the trash area, and no one ever investigated the cause. When it snows, there is little to no effort to clear the roads within the property. Overall, management is unresponsive and neglectful. DO NOT RENT WITH THE HAMILTON COMPANY. They're slum lords. The public spaces are filthy and in disrepair. And they run a racket with Franks Towing to have your car towed even if you have a parking pass.

One of the worst places I have ever lived. We had rats, company didn't care and did not get us an exterminator. Elevator for the building was always broken, and they sent us bogus fees after moving out that had nothing to do with the quality of the apartment. The person managing our building switched right before we moved in and the updates we were expecting before we moved in were not completed, and again, they just ignored us. One of the worst places I've ever stayed & definitely not worth what we paid. ONLY PRO was the location - a double edge sword. Centered in a great area HOWEVER - CONs would be the location as well. Directly across the street is a homeless shelter and we got to enjoy a ton of arguing and fights at all times of the night and early morning.
